It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

He’s no where near like Jesus in terms of versatility and close to a 9 than anything. Sterling leaving also would surly mean we have our hands in the pot for a wide player? That amount of pace leaving without being backed up.

Well from comments on videos by River plate fans Alvarez is a more clinical Jesus. His work rate is the same as Jesus

I think Sterling’s pace is massively over exaggerated. Even when he’s put clean through on goal, he only ever gets the ball and cuts back anyway.
This. He is one of the slowest, quick players I have ever seen. It’s all well and good being able to run fast in a straight line without the ball, but when you have to slow down to a snails pace when in possession it makes it all a bit meh.

It's Sterling we need to shift.

Absolutely no issue with Jesus staying if he wants to.

For Sterling to leave, we might have to accept less than £50m in his final year.

The gamble with this is that it would be no surprise at all if Sterling doubled or even tripled his goal output next season if playing alongside Haaland.

Raz is a proven goalscorer when playing alongside an Aguero or Harry Kane. I also think he’d have a point to prove going into the last year of his contract.

That said, Jesus is the superior footballer and works much harder for the team. Although we are not short of hard working players, we are short of people who can put the ball in the back of the net.

Alvarez isn't just a goal scorer either he's created the most chances in Copa Libertadores

most chances created (13) • most key passes (13) • most chances created per game (6.5) • most key passs per game (6.5)

He's going to fit in here nicely, him and Haaland will be dangerous. Adds a new dimension to our attack

Sterling holds all the cards,i can see him doing a Milner (albeit without the false promises)

He definitely needs to go,he is the least City type player in the first team picture and he is blocking the way of someone who could consistently improve us.

There was some river plate lads on the metro in Madrid asked them about Alvarez they said he's the best player in Argentina

Of course Argentina’s League is famously full of world class players…

every single South American prospect is the best player in their country before they move to Europe that’s why they love to Europe.

sterling is fast, he can beat fullbacks with pace. but he's an extremely slow decision maker, and when he's making his decision his brain automatically tells him to slow down, so his pace is almost irrelevant as by the time he's decided what he wants to do he's already caught.

I'd except a bag of spanners for Sterling at the moment. Jesus might not be a great finisher, but he's the type of player we cann rely on, to put in a shift

Tchouameni Monaco want 60 million euros according to reports. That count as a cheap enough back up to Rodri, because I don’t think you can get anyone cheaper in this market

I agree with that, i think he likes being the "wingman", in this case the main focus being on Sergio and Kane and he can get on a do his job.
Apparently, before spurs got the lad from Juventus, i was told they were considering Sterling to play alongside Kane and Son next season.

Jesus and Sterling are playing the same role for us and with Cole being part of the squad now, one of them will likely leave in the summer.

We already have. Alvarez can play across the line.

You think Alvarez will be able to play right away? He's moving from the Argentine League to the top of the Premier League, that's a huge step up.

As the post above says, we'll get Haaland but the goal tally of our other forward players is poor compared to Liverpools.

We haven't replaced Sane/Torres as well as Aguero.
