If he was fighting with a white guy you think he’s gonna call him a monkey that’s a race based insult. Not something you say to anyone in the heat of the moment it’s clearly targeted against black people.

Agree with this. It’s been nagging at me all season. I know Stones was injured at the start of the season but Laporte didn’t exactly nail down a spot for when Stones returned yet still kept his place without fail.

After the season and Euros that Stones had, I think that’s poor decision making. I’d like to think that we’d stand up to a player wanting to leave - or just let him leave - if he threatens to rather than just playing him regardless to keep him happy.

I'm not going to get into a debate with anyone about this...I've been called many an insulting name when I played, some with obvious racial undertones and by guys I know are not racists...I did not say he's not a racist...I said that comment to Militao on its own proves he was young and ignorant and out of line...you really want to tag this guy with that heavy of a label off that one incident, knock yourself out...but make sure all your windows are boarded up before you throw that stone...just sayin'...

Believe it or not, some of us have never felt the compulsion to verbally abuse someone based on their skin colour.

I think it’s time for Laporte to move on, it’s the same tactic every season of threatening to leave if he doesn’t get to be a starter, if we get Bastoni I’m ok with it. Try the Stones and Dias partnership from last season because i thinks Stones deserve a chance to be a starter if it doesn’t work Bastoni and Dias as starters and Stones and Ake as cover, I’m good with that.

I said he was way out of line...but how do you know he's targeted black people?...all you know is he's targeting Militao in a very shitty way...the idea that anyone acting a fool is automatically a dyed in the wool racist solves nothing...a fine, a suspension, counseling are all better ways to address these things then branding a 21 year old (at the time) with something that heavy for life...a real racist is one fucked up individual, be he or she White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, Arab, whatever...I'm not ready to put that kind of label on that kid over one idiotic comment...JMO...

Believe it or not mate neither have I and I said more than my share of shit while playing...but there's a difference between making an inexcusable comment and actually being a racist...if what Cucarella said makes him a racist then by you're standard the majority of people on this planet are racist...I'd like to think otherwise...

I have had a woman tell me "fuck off you white monkey!" And yes I am a white guy.

As for the rest of the discussion I'm not a part if it. This was merely me saying I have been called a white monkey.

Are you seriously asking why I think that, a white guy called a black guy a monkey. And you trying to convince yourself that he isn’t actually a racist. Just an honest to god mistake in the heat of the moment.

I can understand why that would make you feel more comfortable.

Anyway, I'm not calling Cucurella anything because I don't think there's enough evidence either way. I just wholeheartedly disagree with some of the comments in the discussion about it.

See even the woman had to add ur race because of the fact that it’s not and never was a general insult the word has always been targeted towards black people. I have been called sand ni**er but that doesn’t give me the right to go and call black people that.
