Disagree about a Jesus replacement mate.Haaland replaces aguero
Alvarez replaces Torres
So selling Jesus leaves a gap in the squad
And selling Bernardo and Sterling leaves a hue gap as you say
He actually couldn`t grasp the fact that Pep actually tells lies to the media.I already told him Pep identifies who and what he needs and the crew sets about trying to make it happen...that's how it works period!!...has this fella heard of the personal calls Pep has placed with players BEFORE they are brought on board, including Haaland and Alvarez...this guy wants to suggest the club don't know what they're doing but he knows including Pep in that will make look even dumber than he already looks so he hangs his hat on Pep's not involved in the decisions when in fact Pep has perhaps the biggest say...everyone is entitled to an opinion, but this Pep isn't in on the decisions thing is simply not factual...in fact its basically insane and idiotic to even suggest...
only messing. The work rate from sterling and Jesus is phenomenal. Bernie going would cause us problems I agree. No one is throwing these players out they want to go.lose the creativity of Bernardo, the running that creates space from Jesus and sterling, the pressing of those 3 and not to mention the defensive work of those 3 when running back towards their own goal and he will have to
I think people underestimate the work rate of the 3 we are talking about leaving and how the ones left lack it
This isn't really comparable though. Palmer has made 13 appearances for the first team, the majority handfuls of minutes from the bench. We didn't feel the need to sign a replacement for Silva because at that point Foden was a regular starter for us.At some point we need to give him a proper chance and allow him to start more games. Similar to foden when he broke through
Sterling, Jesus, Zinny?….London calling for 3 players !
I agree on your points...only messing. The work rate from sterling and Jesus is phenomenal. Bernie going would cause us problems I agree. No one is throwing these players out they want to go.
A new approach is needed. For all the good points you make for each player. The ability to score regularly has been a problem. Hell jesus even decided he wanted to be a winger. Sterling for whatever reason wants to go and has looked a shadow of the player he once was for us.
The club need to move on. This current team limped home again for the second season in a row. Winning the league was an amazing achievement with no forward, dwindling Fern and a lb in jail.
I am very thankful for everything that both players have contributed. We can’t fear their loss but accept change is coming mainly due to as I said the players mentioned wanting out.
Except that Torres and Aguero were never really playing at the same time. After Torres arrived, Aguero played the equivalent of 8 full games. And Torres was the least used of our attackers by far.Haaland replaces aguero
Alvarez replaces Torres
So selling Jesus leaves a gap in the squad
And selling Bernardo and Sterling leaves a hue gap as you say
Alvarez is not a direct replacement for sterling. but if we buy no one then he will replace jesus/sterling playtime on the right wing and will rotate with mahrez. palmer will play in the cups and some easy league matches.Alvarez is a fantastic talent and ready to play a part for us - in the middle.
He came through at River Plate as a winger and was regarded as a good young player with decent potential. But it's only when he went through the middle that he exploded. He's a fantastic finisher, good with both feet, he presses well, he's stocky and strong and he's not slow. But he's probably not as fast as Jesus and certainly not as fast as Sterling. Alvarez is Gabby's replacement, pretty clearly - a back up striker who can also cover the wings and press. He isn't at the same level technically but he could end up being a world class centre forward, and a very good inside forward.
He isn't as good as Gabby on the wing, and Gabby isn't as good as Raz on the wing. The idea that Alvarez is a suitable replacement for Sterling is nonsense.
If he's going, fine. Get the best fee and get it done. But if we've got to within a year of his contract running out and we haven't identified a suitable replacement, it's a failure IMO.
Agree with Bernie. I expect Jack to come out of his shell this season. Mahrez can be hit and miss so another winger might be needed. We could be sitting top by Christmas and the new players tearing it up. Hopefully the recruitment is spot on otherwise we might struggle for 1/2 seasons. City struggling usually still means a cup or league win anyway. We need the change in personal.I agree on your points...
Mine is that we are left we worse options outwide in Mahrez and Grealish
I could take losing Sterling and Jesus but to lose B.Silva would be a huge mistake....it was said last year and thankfully no one came in for him or he changed his mind or whatever happened....
Is that at me for Nkunku? ((I got quoted but nothing in the post)Could you see him playing as an 8?
Discussing Neymar for City is a complete waste of time...This thread is as bad as the losers on twitter. Someone randomly makes something up and mentions Neymar and the thread then dedicated 50 pages talking about something that will literally never happen.
But the point is we might not be replacing Sterling...so thats one down for startersDisagree about a Jesus replacement mate.
Foden
Grealish
Haaland
Alverez
Mahrez
Sterling/replacement
Palmer
Is plenty for 3 positions. 8 players for just 3 positions is overkill imo.
Then who did grealish "replace"...Haaland replaces aguero
Alvarez replaces Torres
So selling Jesus leaves a gap in the squad
And selling Bernardo and Sterling leaves a hue gap as you say
If Alvarez is rotating with Mahrez, who exactly is rotating with Haaland? One of the three is going to end up playing a silly amount of games. One has never played European football, one has a patchy injury record of late and the other is 31.Alvarez is not a direct replacement for sterling. but if we buy no one then he will replace jesus/sterling playtime on the right wing and will rotate with mahrez. palmer will play in the cups and some easy league matches.
Then who did grealish "replace"...
No one..he is at present a poor additionThen who did grealish "replace"...
