It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

It's not really a condition in that sense. It's not an issue for me. I just meant to explain what I mean by the way I can accidentally crave debate but may appear confrontational without meaning to be if I don't agree. When people on forums are met with disagreement they often get defensive and that sometimes is because of habit. We form habits on forums based on past interactions with all the knobheads and wind up merchants. So when met with the slightest of disagreement people often react based on these past experiences and a genuine question or disagreement is seen as an attack rather than a question.

I question things. But no one really tried to answer them. They just said we don't like what you might be suggesting so here's a thread ban for yourself.
We all do mate, sometimes the way they are put across is more antagonistic than they are meant to be.

99% of us are clueless. Add 10 weeks of closed season and people are bored and jump on anything they can, both good and bad.

ITKs post in good faith. They’re naturally weeded out over the years and the one with substance stick around.

That doesn’t mean they get carte blanche to post what they like. Every last detail is always scrutinised.

Sometimes ITKs will get it wrong. Football transfers are not an exact science. That doesn’t mean the ITK is wrong, it means things have moved on and they aren’t aware of them.

Unless you think Pep, Txiki or Ferran posts on here, then ITK knowledge is the best info out there at that current point. It’s subject to change.

If I was you, based on what you’ve told me and my assumptions based on that, I’d give Bluemoon a swerve until the new season.

No information is absolute.

Dybala doesn't really fit anything we need. He doesn't play on the wing often and when he does he offers the same style as Mahrez and Palmer.

That’s a shame because nuance, body language, gestures and overall non-verbal clues and linguistics are a huge part of how humans communicate. So I can see how at least 80% of that doesn’t really translate to a 2D written forum.
Nuance maybe the only useful skill on here. Perhaps spend a week posting less, reading more and trying to pick up the overall cadence and ‘rhythm’.
Every culture has its own weird way of doing and saying things, this madhouse included

I wouldn't be against bringing in Dybala just don't think we will bring in another attacking player even if Raz goes.
Not a chance Ray. We have signed Alvarez who plays in the exact same position, is younger, cheaper and who we expect will be better in the long term.
I met Txiki in the Hilton at the parade, tried to blag some transfer gossip to no avail.
The one single thing he gave to us was ‘Erling is Erling. We all know. But watch out for the boy Julian Alvarez, he is an amazing talent’

Fair enough to all of that expect the last bit. There's absolutely no reason for me to swerve this. I'm not the one who gets upset by discussion. At no point have I been bothered about anything. I've asked questions or disagreed with the reason for the ITK forum existing. Why would I need to avoid this section of the forum other than for other peoples sensitivities to what I've said? That's going back down the route of banning me, or anyone, for not towing the line. Which brings us back to the question of what is the point in a forum if we can't all have our say?

Don't get me wrong, if someone posts with the pure intention of being a dick, a wind up merchant then ban them. I suggested the only reason this thread exists is to keep internet traffic flowing during the off season on a forum that requires it for advertisement revenue and that makes me question the integrity of the ITK. It seems like if I am wrong it could be countered easily enough. But to thread ban a poster for asking that makes you question why is that> This was last season. I'm not questioning it this season but that's my explanation for what I meant.

Harwood-Bellis could be the 4th choice CB if Ake goes. He won’t be, but I see no reason why not.

Hes England u21 captain and now had 2 years of mans football at Anderlect, Stoke and Blackburn under his belt. Had couple years training under Pep already so knows the Pep style and what’s expected.

Wouldn’t be the worst option In my view.
i think pep prefers right-footed/left-footed CB pairings (build-up play) and that`s why Mbete has a better chance...

I agree with this which in a sense backs up what I was saying. But there's no point in myself taking a week off posting as I don't really post prolifically as it is.

I remember in Ake's welcome interview him saying something along the lines of not drinking a sip of alchohol while he's still a player as he doesn't want any regrets. I'm sure it was killing him not playing as much as he'd ideally like this past season. I do fear Chelsea could turn his head as they've got opposite our current depth at CB currently.
He would be club trained for them. So if he does go they need to be absolutely rinsed on the fee

Ake is our 4th choice CB after Dias, Laporte & Stones

& our 3rd choice LB after Cancelo & Zinchenko

So getting the 40 Million we already paid back is not a bad thing to do

Rodri can be our 4th choice CB and Kalvin can fill the DM
Chelsea are desperate. When you have your boot on an enemy’s throat, no mercy. You squeeze harder

Eh??

If Chelsea want Ake then I want minimum like 50m, and really closer to like 60m.

No way should we accept what we paid when he looked completely settled in a title winning team, is homegrown for them, and only just entering his prime age.

And the fact they are a rival.

It would also likely force us into the market which I don't think we are ready for unless we try giving a youth or recall a loanee as options for 4th choice, which is very unlikely from Pep.

Newcastle were apparently quoted 50m, Chelsea need to quoted more for that!
Should be 60m at least with the numbers of years left plus a direct rival who are flushed with cash and with CB a position they are struggling with.

I hope we are looking at replacements. Jesus Sterling Ake all great squad players.

Ake 55M + sterling 60M. Chelsea are going to pay us around 100M for our substitutes. Either Chelsea has become a dumb club or It's horseshit info
Our substitutes are better than what they have now. So no, Chelsea isn't dumb, Chelsea will improve with Sterling and Ake.
Most of our substitutes, would walk into almost any team's starting 11 in the EPL, because we have class players as our subs, and they have been trained to be class by a great manager!
So let Chelsea fork out £120M for both Ake and Sterling, they help with their home grown quota too!

But this is too much of a squad refresh, our style of football takes a season to understand, so this could be a challenging season for us because of the new players coming in need to adapt to the Pep system.

It goes further than that. He was literally running away from the stuff when the players were spraying it around on the pitch and in the changing room.

Thought it was either an allergy or religious thing because he looked genuinely scared.

Yes he's still young but Taylor Hardwood-Bellis looked like a fish out of water when he played for us, didn't exactly set the world alight for Stoke and Anderlecht and is now being linked with the likes of Burnley and Celtic.

I don't really know why anyone thinks it's a good idea to have him fill Ake's spot.
