It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Forgetting the lb situation for a minute I think it’s absolutely crazy we are seemingly happy to go into next season with a smaller squad than last year.

Just can’t get my head around it. I’d rather pep just chuck the fa cup away early on rather than at the semi final stage once the fixture pile up starts.

We as fans may be happy with just the prem but the club constantly talk about the will to compete for every major trophy. With the squad as small as it is it is not possible to fulfill that ambition imo.

Yes, I accepted it was Pogba, but don't know the exact timeline of when the person passing on the info was still up to date.

At the time they said it was a real big one and related in to Raheem.
I always thought it must be Pogba as made so much sense. But how would this be related to Raheem?

so is it Romano vs Blackburn then
Romano normally confirms a transfer only after it is almost done and Blackburn is reliable for City.
Romano almost confirming Zinc to Arsenal and Blackburn saying the deal is in balance. I am almost confused.

Martin Blackburn is away with the City camp and will have been steered the deal was still in the balance.

Certainly sounds like City are briefing MB on the key negotiating positions they want to communicate.

I’d be interested to know your perspective on this mate - is it not more likely we’re using MB to set the narrative on Zin not being 100% done, us being relaxed on the LB position if he stays, and us not being willing to go near Brighton’s £50m valuation - all to set the context in our negotiations on Cucurella?

Essentially - we shouldn’t take the specifics as accurate. More a statement on the position we’re trying to put out there?

Or am I way overstating the role of the sports media in any of this stuff?

Romano 'confirmed' it a couple days ago because Ornestein claimed it. He has made his bed, now has to lie in it. Like he did with Messi staying at Barcelona for like 3 months, before Messi left.

I still think Zinchenko will leave now.

This is already a confusing window without Ornstein and Blackburn saying different things. Is it any wonder we can’t make sense of it?

If a reliable reporter said City were considering selling Cancelo for 30 million I think I would just accept there were things going on way above my understanding at City rather than WTF anymore.

It could all look a lot clearer after our next signing though, if it’s Neymar, I give in ;-)

Romano just copied Ornstein as usual. Ornstein is excellent for Arsenal news but as TH says City often use Blackburn….I guess he will go but it’s delayed.

The problem is if he signs it you know there are people that will attack him the other side saying why have you done that. You only have to look how the media have gone after Raz before and that probably plays a big part of what he does in public which is pathetic if you ask me the lad has never done anything wrong and seems a stand up bloke and a great player. I hate this country sometimes.
I get what you're saying but he could have at least smiled and said something like you know I can't do that...he just looked at the jersey and turned away without a word...he could have just signed it for the kid whose only chance to get his signature in the States was this...what could Chelsea fans say?...do they want to pretend he didn't play here for 7 years...In all honesty I can't say it was a good move by Raz...
