Hope we still get a natural full back in on the left, regardless of the Zinny situation. We look very narrow with the wingers left in the mix.If we can’t get Cucurella I hope we go for Raum he’s going to be something special.
West ham in talks so if we want him we may have to express that to his camp relatively soon.If we can’t get Cucurella I hope we go for Raum he’s going to be something special.
Thanks. Still can't see him turning them down as he's Guaranteed a start there
Maybe wages
Forgetting the lb situation for a minute I think it’s absolutely crazy we are seemingly happy to go into next season with a smaller squad than last year.
Just can’t get my head around it. I’d rather pep just chuck the fa cup away early on rather than at the semi final stage once the fixture pile up starts.
We as fans may be happy with just the prem but the club constantly talk about the will to compete for every major trophy. With the squad as small as it is it is not possible to fulfill that ambition imo.
You do know we've brought in Haaland, Alvaraz, Phillips and a keeper. In what way is the squad currently smaller ?Forgetting the lb situation for a minute I think it’s absolutely crazy we are seemingly happy to go into next season with a smaller squad than last year.

I think its the unknown of Alvarez, Palmer and McAtee that makes certain people nervous. For me though, other than the LB slot that hopefully Cucurella fills, i think that squad is as good as anything we've ever had. Also gives players like Palmer and McAtee a genuine chance to play some meaningful minutes.Last season:
Ederson, Steffen, Carson
Walker, Cancelo, Zinchenko, Stones, Dias, Laporte, Ake
Fernandinho, Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo, KDB
Sterling, Jesus, Torres, Mahrez, Foden, Grealish
(Palmer as that one youngster semi regularly involved)
That's 21.
I've not included Mendy because he just wasn't part of it at all. Torres I have, despite him going.
This season:
Ederson, Ortega, Carson
Walker, Cancelo, Zinchenko or Cucurella, Stones, Dias, Laporte, Ake
Phillips, Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo, KDB
Haaland, Alvarez, Mahrez, Foden, Grealish, Palmer
(McAtee as that one youngster semi regularly involved)
That's 21, with Palmer now stepping up, which has been largely been accepted as what's happening, with McAtee to take his academy lad place.
That isn't a smaller squad mate. I guess people could argue about Palmer, but that's a quality debate not a sheer numbers one and we'll have to trust Pep and co on that that he's good enough to be one of the actual squad.
so is it Romano vs Blackburn then
Romano normally confirms a transfer only after it is almost done and Blackburn is reliable for City.
Romano almost confirming Zinc to Arsenal and Blackburn saying the deal is in balance. I am almost confused.
Feels like a lot of press are towing the latest (yet older) public news (agreed deal) and Blackburn could be leading with fresh input from whispers definitely. The fact that one is saying different to the crowd gives me hope zinc might stayDon't be. Romano is piggybacking again, this time because Ornstein, so reliable for Arsenal, went first.
The fact Martin tweeted at 5am this morning that Zin may be having second thoughts, tells me he got a heads up in the hotel bar last night and will be up to the minute truth.
I agree, could of taken a picture with the kid etc. Maybe he will do it differently next time as it got plastered around social media.I get what you're saying but he could have at least smiled and said something like you know I can't do that...he just looked at the jersey and turned away without a word...he could have just signed it for the kid whose only chance to get his signature in the States was this...what could Chelsea fans say?...do they want to pretend he didn't play here for 7 years...In all honesty I can't say it was a good move by Raz...
I guess the conversation shouldn't be its a smaller squad because you're right it isn't and I like th look of it! But is 21 enough to be competitive at the highest levels of all comps?Last season:

Yes, it is when those 21 are as good as oursI guess the conversation shouldn't be its a smaller squad because you're right it isn't and I like th look of it! But is 21 enough to be competitive at the highest levels of all comps?
Certainly sounds like City are briefing MB on the key negotiating positions they want to communicate.
I’d be interested to know your perspective on this mate - is it not more likely we’re using MB to set the narrative on Zin not being 100% done, us being relaxed on the LB position if he stays, and us not being willing to go near Brighton’s £50m valuation - all to set the context in our negotiations on Cucurella?
Essentially - we shouldn’t take the specifics as accurate. More a statement on the position we’re trying to put out there?
Or am I way overstating the role of the sports media in any of this stuff?
Its got to be a tough decision to agree to leave a club like city. If he does fair play I wish him all the best. Personally I hope he stays.City wouldn't use Martin like that, nor would he or Jack Gaughan allow themselves to be.
I fail to see what leverage we seek to gain selling Zin BEFORE buying a replacement, anyhow?
More likely the story we have accepted Arsenal terms but Zin is suddenly digesting the options.
Pep would never push the lad out and we have the money to buy another left-back, regardless.
Fuck Arsenal's dirty Emirati-sponsored money, we have enough of our own ;)
Except it looks like he did sign it. Why are people assuming it's a kid BTW, unless they were being held up by an adult they look taller than Raheem.I get what you're saying but he could have at least smiled and said something like you know I can't do that...he just looked at the jersey and turned away without a word...he could have just signed it for the kid whose only chance to get his signature in the States was this...what could Chelsea fans say?...do they want to pretend he didn't play here for 7 years...In all honesty I can't say it was a good move by Raz...
