It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Don't get me wrong, i think our recruitment is good, but not without flaws. How many managers other than Pep would have won the league with Gundogan as our top scorer? Same with the full-back situation...where Pep has continued to find solutions (Delph, Zinchenko, Ake, AKanji etc...). This is what i meant.

imho there's none better so good but without flaws is very harsh. Liverpool for a bit were flawless but that wasn't sustained. Madrid are doing well but they have big inbuilt advantages over City.

Just as Pep's management isn't flawless, it's an impossible standard to expect it to be perfect at all times.

We are the Internet and we demand gratification!!!

I wonder if we're far enough down the list of targets that Pep might just tell Txiki to hold off for now, and reassess after pre-season.

Gives him a chance to try out his midfield options. Right now we have a lot of young players on the fringes who may just be ready for the breakthrough. It's a massive opportunity for McAtee, for example, to show Pep that he doesn't need to sign a young creative midfielder, or for Palmer to stake his claim as the Mahrez replacement (if he goes to Saudi Arabia).

Would also be useful for him to test out Phillips and Kovacic, and Phil in the middle.
