It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Whats different? That Barcelona would happily sell FDJ is nothing new, they tried to sell him all summer last year. Its FDJ that seems to have no intention of leaving.

he was quoted recently saying he hadnt thought about moving and was happy in barca but you can never say never? If the money is right for Barca and they accept then i genuinely think he would move to play for Pep as well? Plus playing in the premier league and with this group of players and manager would be the best time to come?

Feels a bit counterintuitive. No doubt worth £50/60m when Leicester sell him in a year or two. As we’ve seen with Lavia, having a buyback is futile if a competitor makes a move before we’re ready.

My example was inviting kids to an orgy... It's more than 'just having sex.'
Also, I went and read what he supposedly did.. For the record, what he did wasn't homophobic, which should not be conflated with transphobic as they are not the same.

Anyway, more importantly, on the issue of tolerance, it is high time tolerance starts going both ways. People who do not like the lifestyle of the religious have to learn how to tolerate them as they often request the religious to learn to tolerate their own lifestyles.

Live and let live can't be a one way street.

Anyway, you are one of my favorite posters to read, so I'll leave it at that. There's a lot more here but this is not the right place and no need to derail the thread.

Good luck to the young man. He has large boots to fill.

Happy to draw a line under it right after correcting you on the claim that I'm being anti-religious. I'd wager that the majority of our players are religious, on whatever level, and I genuinely couldn't care less. None of my business.

But when you're spreading your backwards ideas to vulnerable and impressionable kids then you're painting a big fucking target on your back.

I'm still here!!!!!

Still figuring Twitter thing out, but so many friends and colleagues have been on at me to say I could maybe earn money from it at some point, so dipping my toe.

Also had some good advice from posters on here about exposing myself to some who may try to cause me strife, but I will either block or ignore.

From a professional point of view, my career is changing, so some people might be best ignoring me too, for their own reputations.
Don't ask Kyle for advice on that.

Good luck with the ongoing career change.

Its still the salary thats the issue? I think its unrealistic that he would be willing to cut his salary in half just to get out of Barcelona. The whole reason Barcelona wants to get rid of him is his salary, a salary nobody (City included) would want to pay and that FDJ seems to have no intention of giving up.

He's just an ignorant little homophobic twat who spends every waking minute of his life babbling about how much he loves jesus.

I used to have him on Instagram when he was in our academy and every fucking day he'd put up post after post about his faith.

Don't get me wrong, people are entitled to believe what they want to believe but when it's your entire personality then you're a bit fucking sad. Add to that the fact that him and his brother hang around trying to preach and convert younger lads from the academy to their bullshit.

No time for it whatsoever.
I'm an atheist, but worked for years in an area with lots of evangelical Christians. You've got to remember that if they've been brought up in that culture, then many of the significant adults in their lives, starting with their parents, will have been preaching this as totally normal since birth.

I worked with plenty of very, very intelligent people who would argue about things like evolution, and despite having grown up a Catholic, I was surprised about just how much it's all intertwined with day to day life, and how important spreading the word is (I suppose the clue is in the title). At one point, I think I had at least a dozen people praying for my soul :)

It's such a huge part of life, and I'd argue a little bit cultish, so I'd be wary of judging anyone that is relatively young for still being in the thrall of that brand of religion.
