It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I highly doubt he’s the player Pep’s willing to go to £90m for, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

It might be a case of late window english prem player tax.

Not giving Palace enough time for a replacement and over paying.

I agree with the above poster that at like 60m I think thats right, but a +30m tax for what I stated takes it to 90m.

Devils advocate now.

He is a left winger and can rotate with Grealish and can also play in the half spaces as a threat like Foden and Alvarez.

The fact this player isnt a box to box midfielder (I thought we were getting depth for Rodri) must mean Bernie is permanently a defensive midfielder.

Our attacking options behind Haaland would be:

Foden, Alvarez, Grealish, Eze, Doku, Palmer

Which is also very young, mostly english, and has a balance of control, dribbling and goals. It looks good on paper.

90m is too much, thats Barella lvl imo but might be the tax for great depth.

I’m doubtful on Palmer staying, maybe he goes Palace as a makeweight? Palace are a good club for development after all, and would offer him regular gametime

Yeah will be a bit tough to keep Palmer if 2 attackers are signed.

That being said, I think 6 attacking players for 4 spots should mean plenty of minutes for all, especially when one of them will occassionally play striker.

Walker playing wide right against Newcastle probably was very specific to their threat.

I suspect Pep will still want wingers wide as it was clear with Walker that while he did a good job holding the width and defending, if say Doku was there, our threat would have gone up on that flank.
