The irony is that Bobby Robson nor Keegan won a single trophy with Newcastle as a player or manager and yet are treated as deities up there.

And why shouldn’t they be? Both are legends of English and European football and both are legends throughout Newcastle. It’s not ironic at all because it’s not always what you win that makes you a legend it goes a lot deeper than that.

Yes, but we dont have a statue made for Brian Horton. Their love affair with Bobby Robson is weird in my opinion. It would be a bit like us commissioning a statue for Joe Royle.

We’d be sorted for this season had we signed Mac Allister over Nunes last season.

I think Pep and the team must’ve noticed last season we didn’t have enough threat from midfield on transitions and recruited for that in Nunes and Kovacic.

The difference is Kovacic isn’t only a transitional threat - he is excellent on the ball , press-resistant etc.
