I disagree, the wingers even at their best are not reliable scorers. 2 goals all season from our wingers is something you expect from relegation sides, nevermind mid table. We need a reliable scorer on the wing, Rodrygo for me, test Madrid and see if he’s happy.

Rather than replying to every post with "not in January" or "it will not happen in January" or "we will have to wait until the summer" perhaps it is worth noting we all get your position but that plenty of us feel we have to be active next month regardless of price and are well aware it could be tricky.
You don't think we need to invest, nor that it will be possible. But you can't rule anything out. There is huge money at stake both in terms of continued participation in this year's CL, the CWC and qualifying for the CL next season.
We didn't do enough in the summer, we can't wait because of the lack of pre-season and we have to see what can be done. You've got no idea whether certain transfers are possible. And it's boring to read the constant repetitive negativity every other post.
Almost like you read my mind, Nusa and Gittens are my 2 top shouts as it looks like Kvaratskhelia will extend with Napoli. Would prefer Nusa over Gittens, but he’s still a very good alternative. We currently have 5 association trained players (Carson, Ake, Walker, Stones, Grealish) who all could be gone within 2-3 years. I think we’ll target more English players in the future (seemingly already do with Wharton and Branthwaite) as we can only have 17 non-HG players, and Livramento and Gittens seem like two of the best options to meOoh that's a good shout.
Any thoughts on trying to bring back Jamie Bynoe Gittens from Dortmund? Seems to have developed nicely (numbers wise). I don't watch tons of Bundiesliga nowadays. Largely PL and the Spanish and Italian league.

Another name I'll throw out is Alex Baena. Creation rates are off the charts at Villarral. I believe he has a €60m release clause.

Really like Baena as well, but he’s more of a no 8/10 than a winger. If I had to guess, he’ll be our KDB replacement as Musiala extends and Wirtz goes to Madrid/BayernThat makes sense with squad restrictions and all.

I don't mind the range of opinions, that's what a forum is all about. Some will think this is a major crisis and call for football manager style signings. Some will see it as a blip and that, in time, things will get better without needing to do too much now.
But his constant dismissal of every potential player and our ability to do anything in January is tiresome and unnecessary.
It's like someone posting "football is shit and I don't care about it" continuously on a pre-match thread. It doesn't add anything and it is boring.
The club decided to hold off from substantial investment last summer. They didn't see value. But the injuries we have had is forcing us to act in Jan in my opinion. We will have to overpay but we have the money and must invest or we risk losing far more money through being out of the CL, doing shite at the CWC and being in a lesser competition next season (plus possibly being shite next campaign too).
