It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Nkuku has had a serious injury he hasn't recovered from. A more attractive signing than Rashford but again not what we really need.
couldnt disagree more. he is soemthing we are lacking. a mix of a 9 and 10 with lots of goals in him. get a real 6 in and nkunku can play the same role as kdb and foden or give haaland a rest and play him as a striker.

if alvarez played as a 10 in our setup nkunku can do it too. way more suited for that role than alvarez was.

It is a little odd that there’s not many credible links to anyone at the moment. We’ve briefed we’re not interested in Guimaraes and Zubimendi but other than Bah there’s not much links. Hopefully it means we’re working away in the background.

We were better in attack against Leicester but we desperately need some athleticism/ positional nous in midfield and we could really do with a right back or a centre back. If we replaced Lewis and Bernardo from the team that started against Leicester we would be much better defensively.

Kovacic is a good box to box or an 8 but keeps being pulled out if position as a DM. Someone like Guimaraes (obviously not going to be him sadly) beside Kovacic and our midfield is much much tighter and the hole in the middle disappears. We would stop conceding goals like Villas first or Everton’s equaliser.

Lewis doesn’t stop enough crosses as was apparent against Leicester. A better full back or Akanji there and we are much stronger.
I’m pleased about that. I doubt any “big names” Will move in January. It would be a right old month long pantomime if that were the case. I’m hoping we can bolster numbers with quality signings that are a bit left field. Akanji type signings. Not massively “sexy” but slot straight in.

It would lessen the impact of course but it doesn't change the fact we'd still be losing out on what's going to be around £100m. Regardless of how comfortably we can take the hit, it's a hit you want to do everything possible to avoid taking

Indeed. And considering Pep is the primary reason so little movement took place in the last few windows, it's hard to imagine it not happening.

I think all those posts are tongue in cheek. I agree it will get tedious quickly but I also think it's a legitimate question. We've been hanging in there for months now just waiting for this period, you'd rightly expect us to be fully prepared and act swiftly now that it's finally upon on.

So your original posts says we going to miss out on 100m if we don't get champs league now your saying we going to miss out on 100m even though I pointed out minimum we will get 50m at the club World Cup!

Yes because getting 50m from the club world cup will help offset the impact from such a loss but the loss of revenue still exists regardless. Not getting champions league football will leave us roughly £100m worse off.

Think of it like this, if you go out with £20 in your pocket, lose that £20 note but you find a tenner along the way, you might only be a tenner down from when you left your house but you didn't lose a tenner, you still lost that £20 as you could have had £30, the tenner just softens the blow.

Has the CL participation money gone up that much? Pretty sure we 'only' got $100m'ish the year we won it
