Not sure you could honestly lump our transfer activity over the last few years into that statement, otherwise we wouldn’t be left with the complete rebuild we currently require.

However, that said, of course we’ve been doing our homework, I just wouldn’t expect it to be the end of the window before we do some business for the reasons I’ve stated elsewhere about our upcoming run of fixtures.

Yeah, you would think we would go for it early on. There is no time to waste, if we don't get CL football, we are in big trouble. I have a bad feeling we won't be signing anyone for the 1st team, I hope I am totally wrong on this.

You'd think we'd have addressed our things already before West Ham since we really need to get it together for top 4.

We've known about our problems for a while now.. and to not address them off the bat like 2 midfielders, a CB, a RB is really perplexing.

I mean I wouldn't even mind if we get Nunes types because we need legs in midfield.

Ben Chilwell has been frozen out at Chelsea. He is a decent left back, can play wing back and is a good crosser of the ball. I think he’s better than Cucurella and could do a job for us.

So you'd rather bring in players who are not what we need in the long run, possibly not even good enough to slot directly into the 11 thus paying over the odds in January which would teuncate our budget come summer simply to try and shore up a 4th/5th place finish?

Why? It's harder to buy backups than it is to buy starters..

A bit like getting Bravo but then getting Eddie later on..
