It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

It's that time of the year where i'm getting giddy over transfers. Couple of years ago, we were welcoming Bony, now we're naming the best of the best young prospects. This summer will be godlike.

I highly doubt Kovacic replaces Gundogan. Recent reports suggest he's closer to staying as city up their offer.
I see kovacic as very much the Bernardo replacement personally, he has similar attributes to Bernardo when playing central (good dribbler, good ball retention, offers energy and is a good presser). I expect mahrez and foden to share the rw minutes and to fill the void left by Bernardo in the position.

We will never replace Bernardo with just one player as his attributes are so unique.

With Jacks recent tweet i'd say he replaces neither as they do not know if they are leaving or not. He's just a depth signing/phillips cover imo.

I think we have played a 4 2 3 1 a lot this season with Bernardo playing deep next to rodri. I see Kovacic doing that role, hope I’m wrong but it feels like Bernardo is off to psg

I do wonder if Pep has now decided that Rico is going to be a midfield option rather than an inverted full back. Interesting that he opted for him as an 8 over Gomez against Chelsea and Brentford, when Gomez is naturally an attacking midfielder.

Of all the players in our squad, Rico comes closest to Bernardo's tenacity.

Tolmie gets some stick, particularly outside of Bluemoon on Twitter etc (for some reason?) but he called Kovacic long ago, at a time when I don’t recall there being any links. Fair play, and should keep his doubters quite for a day or two :)
I still think he’s on to something with Bellingham. He may have said “yes” to them, but will Madrid cough up the cash? That’s what I think he’s been suggesting over the past week. If not, City will no doubt cough up £130m for him. We’re in an incredible position financially. Years of bringing money in through our academy and other player sales and sensible signings at good prices. Txiki and Omar have done a brilliant job.
