Fernandinio was so good, Rodri had to wait especially after a first shite season
Rodders just clicked in his 2nd season, infact he was that good Dino hardly played
Rodri became No 1 on the teambsheet imo especially after Peps outburst post Spurs game

Rodri played nearly every match from the very start - he was our third most used outfield player in his first season.

Fernandinho had to drop into defence that season, due to injuries, so Rodri was in at the deep end. He was playing in front of a makeshift back 4, with no cover, so had to play nearly every game, which probably made him look worse. Not just learning on the job, but in our toughest season.

ps. I do agree about the "not fucking about with" - Pretty sure that's one of Phillips' main problems. Only fit and ready at the point of the season where every game matters, and Pep isn't going to take any chances.

Tbf Stones had turned his private life into a raging skip fire and wasn’t mentally fit to play as he had a lot of family issues to deal with. Fair fucks to him for coming back from all that, though must also have been a big wake up call for him

Seems a lifetime ago that was all going on.
