I think the Kovacic being depth talk is the fact he can play both 6 and 8. So basically adds depth due to playing multi position. We could have Gundo and Kov in the sam team easy. But I think Gundo is off which is why we are now in the Rice talk. We can use Phillips to get that deal done and Kov can still cover 6/8. We go from Rodri/Gundo/Phllips to Rodri/Rice/Kovacic.

Don’t think so, maybe rotation but all players are rotation until they can establish themselves. See Ake, or Akanji. If he can prove he can replace a Gundogan then he’ll replace Gundogan.

Well yeah but Akanji and Ake were signed as depth and not replacements for anyone. Same goes for Kovacic, he ain’t replacing Gundo or Bernardo. He with Foden going in centrally with McAtee behind him we still would need a Gundogan replacment if needs be
