Agreed, we have Stones, Laporte and Otamendi as experienced cb's. Then we have Garcia, Sandler and Dhino ( I think Pep will use him in defence in some games) as the other options.

There are doubts about Otamendi's future and I think his best years are behind him and I personally would get rid so then that leaves us a bit short in the centre half area.

Tommy Doyle? Foden will hopefully be becoming a first team regular and we won't need a huge signing to cover the minutes Foden played last season.

And Rodri is definitely Fernandinho's replacement. Not sure why you think we need another.

I know he’s dinho’s replacement positionally, the point was when silva and probably dinho leave next summer they’ll need replacing purely based on numbers. If gundogan decides to go too that’s three midfielders lost and potentially no way of replacing them if a ban comes in. We’ve got no chance of getting through a season with just Rodri Bernardo kdb and foden and whoever from the academy.

If we bought a homegrown cb and Otamendi decided to leave we 'd have a space. Still, think he'll go on loan anyway.

There's every chance that the club see Zinchenko as a central midfielder in the long term. With Angelino back, I expect this year will see those 2 sharing the left-back role with Mendy, as he hopefully gets over his injury issues.

After that though, Mendy and Angelino can stay left-back freeing up Zinchenko.

I don't know if he has the physicality for it in the league just yet but he's been really good at the base of Ukraine's midfield in the few games I've seen him play there.

Totally agree, I was really impressed seeing him there.

Agree that he isn't too physical, but we've got a few who you'd think that of to look at them. With another year he could be ready for it. It's a possibility at least.
