This could only be done with Mendy's agreement, in every player's contract there's a clause to ensure they have a minimum playing time if not offered then they are entitled to become a free agent If he was left out in August due to injury be was fit in time for January then a place would have to be made available then. One difficulty we have is wasting a place with a foreign second choice keeper
Make or break for a Mendy this season. Foreign spot and salary are an issue with his lack of playing time over 24 months. I know it’s not all his fault but no place for sentiment. He either gets fit and plays or we move him out. We’ve been very fortunate that Delph and Zinchenko have performed above expectations to protect us from Mendy’s lack of availability. It’s impossible to judge how much we miss Mendy because we’ve seen so little of him. Looks like he’s got a lot of attacking talent - great cross on him but equally he looked defensively suspect when he played at Wolves.

I agree, but as we’ve seen with the Mangala contract extension, we take great care of our players.

I said to my mate a few weeks ago I think he’ll stay. I can see Puma announcing a huge bumper deal with him like they have with City as a club and Pep. I then think we’ll use it on transfer deadline day as our bumper signing or drama moment.
If he does leave though he doesn’t have to be gone by our deadline so it could drag on. Like I say though I’m not convinced he will go yet.

Staying and singing a new contract are two different things. There will be nothing official on this any time soon, he wont go by the EPL deadline and he wont go at the German deadline, if it comes to it he wont go in January either. From here on everyone will just see how it goes. He wants to play, how much he plays we will see and that will change how this then plays out.
If he decides he is happy then there is a massive contract there for him to sign, if not then same again next summer. Next summer, if he hasn't signed he would most likely leave, the fee would be big but realistic.

Puma and Adidas were formed by the Dassler brothers - they had initially made a joint company but their relationship soured so they split it up to form Adidas and Puma.

Mendy definitely in last chance saloon. If he cannot perform this season he will be shipped out. We are without doubt weak in the LB area. AZ is a good footballer but a very average LB. We fudge it as we rarely have to defend. When we do he is constantly found out. Jury still out on Angelino..
