It's Quiet 9 - maybe just maybe

Anyone who thinks we don't need another player, particularly astriker or centre back, is dangerously assuming we don't pick up any more red cards or long-term injuries.
They assume that when Vinnie, Yaya and Mario are back they will be available right through to the end of the season.
What if Vinnie or Mario get another red card? Not beyond the realms of possibility. What penalty would they get then? Five, six, eight games?
What if Mario's dodgy ankle goes again? What if, heaven forbid, we get a Vidic-style injury to Vinnie, David, Sergio, Yaya?
It would be daft to throw away the title for the sake of a relatively small sum for a Samba, say — who could probably even be sold in the summer for a profit — to get us over the line. Particularly as Chelsea appear yo be sticking two fingers up at UEFA and FFP

Yes but is as you say Silva does get an injury what on earth would signing Samba do to help that?
I just chucked him in as an example of an area where we are a bit light. Central midfield is okay, would only consider someone like De Rossi who would be better than what we've already got. Nasri and AJ can provide cover for Silva if the worst happened (**crosses everything**). Would be happier with that scenario than, say, trying to see out the season with Kolo, Savic and Joleon as our only CBs.

whatever happened to having money to bring in a player or two? With only few days left and linked to no one in particular that looks like a way's off.

maybe city are saving themselves for a mega-spend in the summer for a champions league. + Dzeko was brought in in January and he has struggled, it just seems a bad time for transfers.

Any remote chance of us bringing in anybody and suggest it would be loan deal would depend on finding new homes for the likes of Nedum, Bridge and Tevez in particluar Tevez.

The way the Tevez saga is going its looking more and more likely he will still be a City player come Feb 1.

I doubt anybody is going to meet our valuation for the baggage he carries.

Any club knows no matter how good a man manager they may have at the helm he isn't going to be around for more than 2 seasons at the very most and filled with much angst for much of that time.

We are going to have to sell him for a deal less than what he cost us in transfer fees alone and it will be a last minute deal meaning we have no time to get fresh faces at the club even if we really need them.

As for Bridge and Nedum it seems very quiet on that front as well.
