It's Quiet 9 - maybe just maybe

Bridge to Sunderland and Veseli to United look very likely tomorrow it seems.

But what about RSC? Someone started this thread before but didn't elaborate: <a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=246845" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=10&t=246845</a> (the link goes to Sky Sports' front page and nothing there)

well that's not really getting rid of dead weight, more like us halving his wages for a few months to go somewhere far away.

was really hoping we could do perm deal for ade, crocky, tevez and summat with ned and wayne. so one down with ned off to qpr still think stuff will happen tomorrow. well hoping anyway.

Our big mistake under Hughes was getting these players on long contracts and ridiculously high transfer fees and salaries.

If they don't work out nobody else is going to do anything but take them on loan with us paying for the majority of their wages until their contract is over or nearing the end.

Most of these players if not all of them for that matter were past their prime.

Bridge, RSC too old or too crocked and unmotivated bar anything but money.

While they may not have been Hughes signings , Jo and Robby were poor business in the main.

Players like Bellamy and Ade could still contribute and did in fact do that no doubt but were not worth the fee or the length of contract initially offered.

We ended up giving Bellamy to Liverpool for nothing after paying most likely the vast majority if not all his wage while at Cardiff.

We hopefully have learned a valuable lesson and that's why we are playing hard ball with Tevez.

If you want him pay us what we reckon he is worth baggage or no baggage and you can have him.

In future if you are over 25 and come to City you will have to be very special to get anything over a 3 year deal.

If you work out as is always the case with the better performers you will extend that deal well within the 3 year period anyway.

If that's not the message we are sending out to players , agents and other stakeholders then we have learned very little from the disasters under Hughes.

RSC will have some value if he stays in form, quite impressed with him for Betis. The problem as always will be wages though, but his goal against Barcelona opened some eyes to how good he can be. We should try and get a transfer fee for him, there must be Italian, German, and Spanish clubs who would want him, he is better than a lot of the crap that gets transferred around Europe.

I agree we must look and get a permanent transfer in the summer but we will never get anything near what we paid for him ala Jo and Robby etc etc.

He hasn't set the world on fire for Betis ( four points above the relegation zone last time I looked ) and I think its highly unlikely they will want him on a permanent basis unless we give him to them for next to nothing.

Our best bet of getting some reasonable money for him ( although again much less than what he cost us ) is if he prepared to play for one of the wealthy Russian or Turkish clubs.

One last big pay deal for him in China is a possibility but again would he really want to go there.

Crocky isn't going to be wanted by any club prepared to pay big wages with his injury record especially as he is now 30. Best he can hope for is a foreign equivalent of a lower PL club or a 4th striker post in a better team - neither type will pay the same money as he is on at City.

To get rid of him we are looking at circa £2m imho, just so the next club can afford his wages to make it worth him moving. Even that will be useful for us, gets a bit of amortisation off the books, and more importantly, his wages at £4.5m/year :(

Now we just need a mug club to want him...................

Clueless made some good buys, Vinnie, NDJ, Zabba but also some godawful ones we are stuck with.......
