It's Quiet - a new dawn

Transfer window isn't even open yet, we've agreed two deals totalling over 70m, released 5 squad players, sold two more for good money, and signed a new deal with a key player last season.... yet people are flapping. We all want 8 new players on July 1st but that doesn't happen.

Deals are being worked on and will or won't be complete in good time. RELAX
The usual flappers goat.

Could this be a future City full back?

Dani Alves quoted in the Daily Mirror as saying "to go and play in England you have to know how to defend well. I hope that one day I will go there.
Asked if that could happen soon, Alves added:"who knows? We'll see."

34 years old but I'd say yes. Have we been linked to him recently?

We have been linked in the media but we all know that such stories are not always well founded and "player to link with former manager" is an easy story to write.

Given that there's, let's call it, serious speculation that we want both Mendy and Bertrand for LB, one does wonder if four full backs is the target? I don't think anyone doubts we are looking at Walker but there's been little noise about any other RB. Bernado came somewhat out of the blue so a 2nd RB could be being pursued. However, I could envisage Pep continuing to use Dinho at RB in games where he wants the RB to play inside more than out so maybe a 2nd new RB is seen as less pressing or maybe it opens up the possibility of buying someone older further. The idea of Walker, Alves and Dinho as our right back options is not unappealing.

Even if we get the 8 in by July 1st, the same posters will be pissed off if we don't pull off a 11pm deal with Jim White spunkimg all over the screen on August 31st...

Are the links to Kimmich not the links to a second right back. Excellent deep lying midfielder and excellent right back.

Pre-season starts in just over 2 weeks. We could be starting the pre-season with Kolarov as our only senior FB. Wonder if Pep likes that? :)

If we got Alves I think for a one year deal it would give us a vastly experienced player who is comfortable in the way Pep's teams play. Also would let us rest Walker (working on basis he does actually sign for us) for some games.

Possibly Maffeo after a year in La Liga could take on the support role to Walker?

Kimmich would be an excellent signing, for now & the future.

Not sure if we could get him from Bayern but would be delighted if we did.

Following De Bruyne, Gundogan & Sane signings it would again prove our power to attract top talent from the German league.

Well not many deals get done on a weekend, so I guess we should all chill now unless of course TH knows better
