It's Quiet - a new dawn

We'll have Kolarov and Maffeo. What are you worrying about?
If you're saying Kolarov and Maffeo are going to be our 1st or 2nd choice FBs next season, then fair enough, otherwise your reply does not really make sense because my point is that it would be preferable to have the FBs who are actually going to play in the first team ready for pre-season. We can obviously start the pre-season with Kolarov and Maffeo as FBs, but that would be a waste of training time and effort because Kola is going be a backup CB next season and Maffeo is heading out to Girona on loan.

As to City and the CAS case, there are a lot of people being far too optimistic.
CIty's internal processes for Drug Testing and Youth Recruitment (England) have been proven to be shit. What on earth makes anyone think that they couldn't be here too!
As a couple have stated if it it proven that FIFA fecked up then we will get punished. Make no mistake about that, especially as Gill will be involved with the subsequent Kangaroo Court.

We have to sign a LB and a RB next week, otherwise we'll essentially be starting our pre-season without the 1st or even 2nd choice fullbacks. Hopefully we can announce Mendy and Alves next week. Walker looks set to drag on for a couple weeks more. After that, Sanchez, the mystery CB and the 2nd choice LB can take a whole month or two to be completed.

Not next week but in two weeks when the lads report back I expect we will have signed at least 3 FB's if not 4. Again, i'm speculating, but I suspect the fact we go back a week later than most everyone else is because Pep's told Txiki he wants certain targets into the club before they start preseason.

I know you said that Walker will be done mate and its look like the Negotiation with Spurs get pace., but what with Mendy ? You think we have over target if Monaco hold on him ?

We've been as good as anyone in identifying and bringing in our targets.
We're also dealing with some tricky selling clubs and some players are in "logjam" situations where movement elsewhere is needed before our guy can change clubs.
Whether or not the formation and personnel are right remains to be seen but our backstage team have done a cracking job so far in bringing them in.

I think all our deals are in the same place and will all get done in the next two weeks. Of course Monaco will make noise about keeping him, just like Spurs will make noise about Walker not being sold for less than their valuation, just like Arsenal will make noise about keeping Sanchez.

I've got a lot of respect for the way we operate in general. Unlike some other top 6 clubs we prefer not to give the media daily/weekly briefings during the transfer window. All it does is piss of the selling club and make them even more intransigent. EG. Liverpool/Southampton. Wouldn't surprise me also if all PL clubs watched that situation unfold and decided that talking to the media until deals are done is utterly counterproductive.

It's a game. We as supporters wanna know who and when, whereas the club just wants to get the best deal they can possibly get with as little noise as possible.
