It's Quiet - a new dawn

I not concerned about the hold-ups with deals getting completed but I do think, the relaxed, laid back approach we "seem" to have only makes the "fake news" and rumours worse. As much as I hate to say it, I do like the way the rags will send a medical team to LA to get the Lukaku deal done while he's on holiday, where we'll wait weeks for players to enjoy their hols, while all the time, leaving us open to possible bidding wars or change of heart etc. We normally get our targets in the end but having a more "killer" approach to some of these deals would make things easier in some situations. All these verbal agreements with players are great but as we all know, they mean very little until they actually sign on the dotted line...
In other words you haven't got a fucking clue what goes on behind the scenes.

So you like the way united have done their business; spending £100m on Belgiums version of Emily Heskey...

Not my money mate and say the same thing no matter who is buying. The value of a player is only what a team is willing to pay. My point isnt about the talent or lack of with a player or the price paid, it was more about the approach they took to get their target! Believe me, I hate to say anything possible about that club!;)

Just trying to have an adult debate my friend...none of us know all the facts (unless you work for the club). This is a forum for debate and opinion! Nothing more, nothing less!

I'm not going down the smacked arse, spitting dummy out road here like, but would it seriously be a disaster if Alves didn't come to us after all ?

I know we need fullbacks, but this fella turning us down won't be the end of the world surely ?

Of course it may all be shite, and he is coming to us,but I don't think I'd be too arsed either way really

It took them a whole season plus the beginning of this window to buy Lindelof and used Mino to nab Lukaku as Mino has become a faux director of football for them. Nothing unique about their approach at all.

You could argue however it's no bad thing to allow a player to reflect and decide whether he really wants to join us. If a player has to be strong armed into joining us do we really want him and is he going to give everything when it really matters? Pep and the rest of us want players who are totally committed to the cause. If the stories about Alves going to PSG are true - I'll be pleased he hasn't joined us because he'd only be after a last pay day and that's the last thing we want.

Do you really think we would leave ourselves so exposed to those risks?

Sometimes mate....We'll never know the whole truth about the Laporte deal last year but always got the feeling that the way we let him recover, gave him as much time as he needed and were so relaxed about that deal, it might have allowed his club to keep talking in his ear and might have atleast helped him to extend with his club. Just my opinion and I knew some blues on here might not like it but you know me, I like a good debate, whether I right or wrong, I'm interested what other blues think. I know some fans might get defensive when mentioning the other side....but felt it was a good example to use!
