It's Quiet - a new dawn

You could argue however it's no bad thing to allow a player to reflect and decide whether he really wants to join us. If a player has to be strong armed into joining us do we really want him and is he going to give everything when it really matters? Pep and the rest of us want players who are totally committed to the cause. If the stories about Alves going to PSG are true - I'll be pleased he hasn't joined us because he'd only be after a last pay day and that's the last thing we want.

While I get @TRUE BLUE NO1's point this is how I see it too. I love how Pep has a come now if we go for you, if you decline then we won't ever come back policy (Bellerin, oxlade, Laporte, bonucci maybe). Only sign those who are fully committed to the project and none who are wishy-washy.

Stack together a squad full of those players and you won't have to ever worry about having a soft or less than committed roster. It's about character really.

It's theright way to go about things...especially so if you have the pull and respect that guardiola has.

The major concern for me this summer s the lack of any noise about a top quality pacey DM. IMO after our full backs the most important position we need to fill.

With Real after nabbing that young U21 lad I wonder are they overstocked a bit. Would love to nab Kroos off them to be with Gundy. That would be epic. Yaya and dinho as well

Or bayern also overstocked in that position.

We deffo need one more in there. Nabry keita would be my preferred option.

Think Sam(goal) mentioned on podcast that DM wasnt on the shopping list this summer. Seems like fullbacks and a forward is at the top of the list. Maybe they feel Yaya/Fern/ Gundogan can get the job done. I agree a long term answer for DM is a must but think thats a job for next summer....both Yaya and Fern are out of contract in 2018, so maybe Pep has plans for find a long term replacement if/when they leave....
IMO we will not win the league without one. That said if we got a good CH then maybe John Stones could do the job as a DM come third centre half.

I've said he could become the English Busquets (minus the ridiculous theatrics) for a few years now. I sill think he'd be a world class "Pivot" DM with time and Pep's coaching.

This. Added to that Garcia and even a stones/Kompany/kolarov maybe playing there knowing pep, i don't think it's a priority this season, especially if Delph or Fernando stay.
We will be ok in that position when we play 3 at the back in some games & wont be surprised Alvez & Stones helping out Dino.

Or we could be trying to loan him out to anyone who'll have him. He's not that sharp. I think they said 15 and we heard 50.
I'd love to be wrong.
