It's Quiet - a new dawn

This is a very good question. Are we really penny pinching with multi million pound deals?

Of course we are not penny pinching on deals. But were trying to negotiate transfers with top players who have the pick of clubs and may prefer other options which they consider equally desirable.

If any player says no, there is feck all Txiki or any other DoF can do, so not sure how we cocked up, unless you know exactly what happened

Well, we had an agreement with the player and the club we're happy to brief that he was joining. Rather than getting him to sign, we pranced around and let him go away, before losing him last minute. If we'd have been proactive, he'd have been a City player two weeks ago

Looking at the situation it looks to me he used the Pep conection to get out of Italy flirted with us agreed a deal with us for decent money but for some reason didn't commit fully using his relationship with pep to stall knowing his preferred decision is Paris for his wife and got more money. Think the guy is a slimy prick really and we have been played city's problem has been the nicey nicey application taking his word for it

But your last line sums it up. We're too nicey nice. We don't go in for the kill on these deals and get them done asap. We let them drag out because we have the players agreement. Get it done, we're going to the states soon and have no fullbacks ffs.

Think this one was set on the Pep player relationship think pep will be feeling pretty pissed n let down by him unless he did let him know before hand his intention to join psg and we have gone straight into plan b mode

No1 flapper that one.

No mate.....wasnt a big fan of Alves so from that standpoint, I'm not overly disappointed! Finding fault with the process the club took in negotiations is different from flapping! We use the same format, every year with our transfers. It's predictable and frustrating and I just feel on this occasion it cost us!
