It's Quiet - a new dawn

Arsenal have accepted a bid of £35 million. We should not offer more. Whatever game of poker they want to play is fine, they've already shown their hand. They can say whatever they like about it being the same league, we know that the bottom line is they'll sell at that price.

Arsenal have accepted a 35m bid for who? Sanchez?

I see your point but do you feel there is any time that our academy will actually produce the goods or must our budget always be spent irrespective of homegrown talent ?

It's bit a discussion that keeps repeated here but I do feel if player is good enough he'll get the chance. Mind you, mistakes are definitely possible, there's no club who didn't have one or many of letting good young players and regretting later.

I hope Pep takes a really good look at the Mangler before deciding to get rid.

If Pep sees he just can't use him, & we have a quality replacement cb coming in, or someone at the club steps up & is better, fair enough.

If we can get good money for him, & Pep isn't quite sure about him, fair enough, but only if we can get a good deal. Otherwise keep him & work with him, rather than just dumping him for nothing.

From the games I've seen him play, mainly for City, the biggest thing he's missing is ball control and unfortunately, that's the worst thing for Pep. There's a decent centre half there, very suited to the Premier League, but ability on the ball means not for us.

I'm not sure that is the case. I think it might be just down to nerves.

And also, as I said before, we saw yet another example of Stones' 'immaculate' touch creating yet another chance for the opposition vs the rags.

If he is allowed so many bad touches & decisions, I don't see why the Mangler shouldn't get a fair crack.

Repeated or not it seems none of our managers see the academy as a springboard for PL at city and they prefer their own players so if as you say Pep wants only his own players what chance for our own homegrown no matter how good they are because no manager will take a chance on a non tested player.
If true then Mr K. uses our academy simply to sell players to others.

Nothing wrong with that, we've made a decent profit on the ones we've sold. We can't afford to drop points while someone learns, we have to field the very best players we possibly can at all times. If none of the young players are at least as good as our regular first teamers then in my opinion they shouldn't play unless we're about 3-0 up.
