It's Quiet - a new dawn

Agree. Whether we like it or not - this is a big season for Pep and the club. We really need to make a statement and when we rotate there can be no step down in quality. Once we are established as the best team in the league with a clear way of playing it will become easier to drop kids into that system.
Spot on

It's just so obviously bollocks too.

Pretty much anyone who's been successful in this sport has said the hardest thing is to sustain success, that's why it's only been retained 6 times in 26 years, and hasn't since 2008 when the landscape was completely different.

It never gets easy. There is no magical time when we're coasting along winning titles and playing kids carries no risk. Someone just has to bite the bullet.
If it were obviously bollocks as you say, how come someone posts it every season?

A full squad I imagine would be a new top CB, backup LB, a top CDM and a forward who can play across the front 3. I pray we sign another CB and maybe a forward this Summer, seems unlikely though. CDM / LB + any other positions Pep fancies strengthening will have to come next year :).
And a better back up goalie I would realistically say

If we aren't gonna get Sanchez or Mbappe, and let's face it both seem long shots at this point, I'd be thinking seriously right now about keeping Nasri and signing Van Dijk.

Bernardo has played most of his football for Monaco on the right so there's no issue with him continuing to play there alot of the time, sort of like our Hazard cutting in with the FB overlapping, and bolstering the squad in CM with Nasri.

Regardless of whether keeping Nasri is feasible, a good idea or a bad idea, I'd rather we not sacrifice on the quality of player just to get a FW in. I'd rather get a CB equivalent level player to Sanchez - esp. with us now having the ability to play 361/352 with the FBs we have

Because it's the same old story every season. It's always 'too important'.

A new manager in his first season can't use any kids. A manager in his second season is consolidating, a manager in his 3rd season wants to win stuff to try & keep his job... blah blah.

I can accept it to some extent in a manager's first season. But only to some extent.

After that, it's just utter crap. And has no basis in fact, or history.

Most of the best teams have won stuff & also brought through young players, including Pep's Barca team & also Utd. Two of the most successful teams of the modern era. This is a fact.

There is no 'risk' involved apart from giving up one or two positions on the subs bench sometimes.

It's too fucking easy not to do it, & use this crap as an excuse, is the problem.

It will always come back to "if they are good enough" they will get given opportunity and that is not for the likes of you or I to decide.
