Ben Gibson from Boro as CH? Just heard a whisper

Gibson is a player that could easily be a brilliant buy or a disaster.

He has shown that he can do everything Pep wants - likes carrying the ball out of defence, is comfortable in possession, has a decent pass - but he's been doing it at such a low level. It's so much easier to stand out with that kind of occasional thing when no one is really expecting Middlesbrough to play out or that bothered about stopping them, it's so much easier to look solid when Aitor Karanka has 6 other defenders back with you etc.

Its hard to believe that apart from Sánchez and Mbappe there isnt anyone on the market that could improve us and would be easier to make a transfer with him.

So many highly paid scouts at the club and they come up with Alexis and Mbappe it feels like I could have made these suggestions to the club as well...

Would make sense, English so takes Delph's spot, is left footed centre back which we don't have and can play left back.

Though I have to say I haven't seen him play much so I've no idea if he's good enough on the ball to play for us.

In fairness to the club they're not after someone here that could be a risk or could work, Pep is after guaranteed goals to add to the team. By the very nature of what the manager is asking for in this last forward they were always going to be big players/ names that are well known. It was always going to be a long and drawn out process.
