Arsenal's stance since June according to Wenger:
June - Sanchez isn't leaving
July -The board will make the decision not me
Early August - I hope he stays
Late August - We'll negotiate
I have to say, the way in which Arsenal have handled this must raise the biggest questions for their supporters. A board and 'respected' manager between them have got themselves in to a position where they risk losing two first team, international, players on the even of deadline day. And not a sniff of an achievable replacement. If Lacazatte was that replacement brought in early, and not to add to the squad, then more fool them.
Wenger best have a couple of cards up his sleeve or he'll be hounded at every game again.
From a City point of view, there are only a few players who can really give us what we need, at least at a proven level. Sanchez is one of them and it if takes xx million to get him in a CIty shirt then it is worth pursuing. If he's taken time off from international duty then surely we are close now.
I'm also now curious to see what Tolm classes as gold, so onwards to 3k. I imagine that Sanchez made his mind up two months ago and Wenger sat on his stubborn arse with his fingers in his ears.
