How can you possibly say an 18yr old in the french league will be the best in world football, talk about getting carried away
4 mins in & he bags another in the Champions League & not the French league ;)

I can say what I want coz I know what I'm talking about & this kid is far better than anything I've seen in any League bar Jesus

so your long term answer is to just spend a bucket load of cash every year. surely that can't be answer all the time. we need to stop beign so reliant on it.
Where have I said that????

What I have said without what has been spent we would have won fuck all, it's cost 1b to get on the competing with Barcelona etc stage.

I expect at least 1 more mega money transfer because FFP fucked us over so we are still playing catch up but after this year I expect the spending to be 1/3 of what gets spent this Summer

Disagree. He could regularly start for some of the teams in the top 8 if given confidence and put in a system that play's his strengths. I could see him regularly starting for Southampton, West Brom or Everton if they sell Lukaku.
Bollocks not good enough back to goal, touch not good enough, Everton will be after experience & they have 2 good kiddof there own. West Brom wouldn't suit him PULIS. I can see him maybe in a Southampton squad but never starting week in week out.

He will go to Italy or France

Everyone gassing over Mbappe. Lemar is a fucking beast in the making. Iniesta on steroids

If we do get Benjamin Mendy I could see him as a left back, left sided CB or left side CB in a 3 at the back. Basically a better version of Kolarov.

Dortmund's Dembele just made a great run & cross for Dortmund goal. Are we linked with this guy at all?

If we're looking for a winger this could be the guy.

Not exactly. I think we can begin to make few additions to the team every season whilst grafting in exceptional academy talent only when we are 'settled'. Our major problem over years has been mainly piss poor buying. I mean you can count on one hand how many positions we have improved since the first trophy win such that we find ourselves in a position where a lot of positions require massive improvement and a there are also a number of positions where we can do with a change despite spending loads. In such circumstances (as highlighted above) you usually don't look to your academy to bail you out but you make your way into the market. Also we can surely learn a lot from Spurs but we must recognise that they can afford to make a lot of gambles that we cannot make as the very best is what we yearn to have. I trust that Pep will begin to set us on the right path but let's not kid ourselves, we may have to spend a lot this transfer window. Let's see where that'll take us in the coming season
