It's a shame that wasn't in place last season :/
 
When do Spurs and Monaco's pre-season training start? I assume Walker and Mendy will both be required to turn up regardless of ongoing talks
 
I think we'll get a few in next week. Players back on Monday, no point cutting their holidays short this close to preseason to get them to sign and go back on holiday for a few days. Not sure about walker but i reckon Alves Monday and Mendy by next weekend. Maybe Sanchez if Arsenal acknowledge the inevitable.

They've started already however I believe players that played international games in June aren't due back until next week.

Alves & Mendy seem the sort of transfers that should get done quickly. Whereas Walker and Sanchez seem like transfers that will drag on, just because of the clubs involved.

If we have Ederson, Silva, Alves & Mendy on board for pre season then I think that goes some way to meeting Pep's needs for a squad that he can work with to prepare for the season. Walker and Sanchez can be integrated later.

I'd still like to see a new centre back on board though, in July rather than August.
 
There's no reason Alves shouldn't have already signed, he's a free agent. Will be mad if he's not in training come Monday.

Walker on the other hand will go to the wire as I can see Spurs digging in their heels for more money.
 
I check in on these threads every summer and it doesn't matter what part of the window it is, there's always someone arguing that a transfer *must* happen tomorrow for this or that reason. The logic doesn't hold: there's never a set routine. The only certainty is that we won't sign anyone once the transfer window closes.
