there is just no point in haggling now imo. if its £50m and walker is pep`s number one choice than do the deal and get the lad in asap!

I must confess I really am starting to get frustrated by this transfer window. Silva and Ederson are two great additions and both were sorted out early but that doesn't make having no fullbacks and no defense going into pre season tour any better. We were told by our chairman that we are looking to go into pre season with most of our signings in the bag. In reality we have no fullbacks and are still short at centre back. Having only kolarov stones otamendi and kompany mid way through July is unacceptable imo. We should be training with a near complete squad, which would include 4 fullbacks and 4/5 centre backs. To go on tour without any defenders signed on could cost us next season. We saw how hard it was for our defenders to adapt to peps style last season, so why put ourselves in a position for that to happen again?! It makes no sense to me. This may seem like a knee jerk reaction but I don't think it's going over the top. Signings need time to bed in, especially from foreign leagues, and so the last thing you want is four new fullbacks coming in in august.
