It's Quiet the £250m return

Hoping we see movement over the weekend. Lots of rumours, lots of names but Khaldoon has said we will be acting quickly and looking to make things happen before the CWC so not a lot of time left.

The dippers have moved on Frimpong and Wirtz is close now, which I must admit I never considered them as a potential option for him. That's going to make them a very difficult opponent next season. Arsenal will sign a striker and go up a level too.

If we get things right it's going to be a great battle for the league.

I like it.
Absolutely zero chance of this in my opinion- pep wants a squad of 22-23 max I reckon- eccheveri and reis on loan probably and that gets you to 23. May be a goer then, but doubt the club manages to sell as many as you have down gone here. Gundogan and bernardo will probably stay in my opinion. Happy to be wrong btw, but this is wishful to say the least

Easier to land players (Reijnders, Cherki) from clubs in a pecuniary plight, but deals for players whose clubs are in healthier positions, well they presumably might take longer to conclude.

The Reijnders deal appears to be the closest. I imagine that will be finalised by early next week.

Not sure about Frimpong - sounds like he’s good going forward but very suspect defensively and more of a wing back/winger than an actual full-back. But relatively ‘cheap’ at less than £30m.

I’m surprised by the Wirtz - Liverpool deal, too. I thought he’d join Bayern with us and Madrid as the only other potential options. They’ll be very difficult to beat if he does join and they bring in someone like Kerkez as well.

Unless Arsenal sign Isak, I’d still fancy us to finish above them next season. They have a strong squad but Arteta is too emotional and not a top manager in my view.

I wouldn't get excited about Rodrygo...

This feels like agents touting him around Europe trying to find a buyer, we don't tend to play that game at the numbers that would be involved here

I did warn this window could be unprecedented for transfer business.

And we haven't even discussed who is gonna take Phillips off our hands!
Phillips the gift that keeps on giving:), perfect for the rags expensive and not very good :)

I think it’s open season when it comes to rumours of players coming or going out of City - Tolmie already mentioned Stones Grealish Kovacic Nunes McAtee may go . KDB is leaving so is Walker and Ederson. Gundo and BSilva have these Turkey rumours.
That’s 10-11 players may leave.

I don’t even know if that’s even possible but we would be going crazy in the market before the league starts bin Aug.

For what it’s worth I think there’s 10-11 players the club would happily sell, but they’ll only sell half of them. Too much squad turnover in one year is a problem and it’ll be genuinely better to have slightly past their peak veterans helping the new signings get up to speed than try to replace half the squad in one summer.

If I were a midfielder that *wanted* to leave, I would ask my agent to sort it quickly because I just don’t believe Nunes, Silva, Kovacic and Gundogan will all be allowed to leave at the same time on top of KDB.

I think it’s the opposite mate to be honest, especially with how Viana works in the past? In a sense shock tactics and getting shit done!

Rodrygo seems to want to play where he likesand his issue at RM is he cannot, that isn't Peps was, players play where he thinks its best

All I see is him being a mard fucker in no time, a great talent but next season we need a squad all focused and on the same page

No one else comes close to Guardiola as a coach but also in England no club is vastly above City in terms of its pull with or without Pep.

You said a mouthful there!

The question is “Who is on the up? Who is on the down? Who faces rebuilding?”

Then, throw in the uncertainty over the manager, and the fact that some players don’t like our playing style, and you face significant challenges in getting world class players over the line…and that’s before looking overseas.

Tbh, I think Chelsea and Liverpool look better today.

It’s all well and good Pep saying he wants a small squad, but we were staring down the barrel of no CL football for

Sign who we want to then chop whoever out of the below

Quality but don’t play enough due to fitness;
Stones
Ake

Not quite good enough/past their best
Akanji - arguably been at fault for more goals than walker
Rico - shame but not a RB by any stretch snd can’t see him playing CM
Nunes - still owe alot on him so will be difficult to sell imo
Kovacic - lower wages and not much money owed, watch this space
Bernardo - huge earner may want him off the books but a Pep favourite and who’s offering him that money. Will stay imo
Gundogan - Turkey rumours won’t go away

Fate already sealed
Walker
Grealish
Phillips
Ederson
McAtee
