It's Quiet the £250m return

Kerkez is a player and I’ve said on here we should’ve gone for him but he isn’t a patch on Robertson nor does he have his experience.
Kerkez is good with a lot of potential, don’t think he’s better or has more potential than Ait Nouri though, so whether he’s better or worse than Robertson isn’t our problem.

Not sure what they’re lacing the tea with in Bournemouth, but the development and improvement in both Huijsen and Kerkez last season was remarkable.

about to possibly lose Zebayni as well to PSG for big money, gonna be interesting to see who they pick up to replace them

Semenyo as well. They’ll have no problem attracting players if they’re able to show a potential pathway to Liverpool, PSG, or Real Madrid within the space of two seasons. Problem, however, is whether they can sustain their competitiveness when allowing a clutch of key players to leave simultaneously. Difficult balancing act.

Eventually catches up with you like Southampton

He’s better than current Robertson, not as good as prime Robertson, which is all he needs to be isn’t it really

If they sell all 4 mentioned, they could rake in around £200 million this summer alone, which is more than Foley paid for the club in 2022. He’s just added another team to his portfolio, Portuguese, as well, but I’m not sure who Bournemouth will sign, save Truffert from Rennes. As you say, it’s a precarious pursuit.

Fit and in form, can this team as it stands win the premier league:

Ederson
Stones
Dias
Gvardiol
Ait Nouri
Rodri
Reijnders
Cherki
Marmoush
Doku
Haaland

Stones? no! injured too often..

Put in a mix of Nunes (production), Khusanov (defense), Rico (versatility/ inversion)..

Yeah they could.. but I think Nico Gonzalez and Nico O'Reilly contribute heavily too since Rodri won't be himself for at least 4-6 months.

Hopefully we have him back to his best for the run in though.

He’s like the modern day Lucas Digne lmao. He’s been here for 1 season. Never understood the hype. He’s got sweet left foot but not technically gifted

Kerkez is a great player and 100% an upgrade.
I was hoping we'd go for kerkez as I think he's better than Ait Nouri.
I'm glad we didnt put all our eggs in one basket for Wirtz, I can't really comment on him as I've not seen enough of him playing but let's see how he fits in.
I hope he does as he's young, it's a foreign country and a big change in his life.

He'd been at Bournemouth two seasons, played at the Etihad in both campaigns. I recommended buying him and Reijnders when they were both at AZ, as you could see they both had high ceilings. The only thing Kerkez lacked was stamina, but Bournemouth developed that. Liverpool got the best part of a decade out of Robertson, who was 23 when he signed, and at only 21, they'll now look to get the same out of Kerkez. Astute signing.
Our choice, Ait-Nouri, is arguably better suited to our particular style of football, but both players are technically gifted.

Rodri needs time to get back to his best. Whether it's 3-4, 5-6 or 7-8 months is not something that can be derived with certainty. Given he was ready to feature 8 months after the injury (Bournemouth), that he is a top, top professional, and looks in good physical form movement wise (Wydad), it's realistic to expect that he will be close to his best 7 months after returning to football. He's been in full training with the team since late April.

Hopefully, he will be ready earlier. To say he needs a whole season to get back to his best might be true, but it seems a very conservative estimate to me.
Completely agree. Many times it takes 2 full years to get over an ACL. It's a devastating physical and mental injury. I would not expect him to be what he was this season or maybe ever. It happens all the time. Of course I hope it doesn't but we might want to tamp down expectations on Rodri.
