It's Quiet the £250m return

Fine as a squad player, impact sub and occasional starter, agreed
But he’s had two full seasons now. Has he really progressed much, if at all, since we signed him?
He is what he is, and that’s OK if he’s willing to accept that role.
But I remain unconvinced how coachable he is, or how much higher his ceiling is, on current available evidence
Current available evidence says that most players don’t hit their peak at 22. Salah was still at Chelsea at 22yo. Closer to home, Marmoush was at Stuttgart on loan scoring 3 goals in 21 apps. You could find a million examples.

Doku has the hard bit grasped. He can take players on for fun. If he can develop the composure to pick out the right final ball then he’s mustard. I’d personally be amazed if he doesn’t improve and I think we’d look back and regret letting him go.

They will work together as a team just as they always have. Nobody manipulating anyone.Anyway Txiki and Viana are still working together.

Viana will be the guy now though, Txiki will be helping out but these will be Viana`s signings as he will be the guy going forward who will live and die by the squad he builds.

Peps comments about squad size are a bit different to what I seem to remember saying eariler in the season where he said something like that he was realising a bigger squad was needed to del with the extra demands of more games in a season, intensity and lack of rest (increased internationals and tournaments).

I reckon we will have about 5 incomings

2 midfielders
1 goalkeeper
2 fullbacks

The keeper situation will be purely based on if one leaves? Been no rumours on that has there so maybe now both keepers stay?

Possibly but there were very strong rumours about both keepers earlier in the season - Ederson linked to the middle east and Oretega wants to be first choice somewhere....

Reckon at least one of them goes

Id rather it wasnt that way and then we could possibly go for another outfield player

That statement was before we added 5 players in January . We start the summer with 28 players which is obviously too many.
The small squad thing is at bit overstated we have only ever been 1 maybe 2 short of our maximum of 21 plus club trained and U21. Next season we will probably be similar 20/21 plus club trained and U21
Difference is now in previous years the only club trained that played was Foden. Now we will se Foden, Bobb, O’Reilly, Lewis all get more minutes.
We will only bring 5 in if we can make room for 5 in the 21.

It’s going to be an interesting summer.

Pray we get the 115/130 out of the way asap now season over.

The CWC is really going to make things difficult, player transactions going on all over the place.

Gone quiet on the Ederson to Saudi stuff though?

Gone quiet on the Ederson to Saudi stuff though?
yeah but lots of stuff has gone quiet.....there will be movement in the background....lots of agents do stuff on the quiet....there are only a few players that want the attention etc and city do keep stuff pretty quiet these days.....
But watching Ederson this season its clear his mind has been elsewhere.....not a definitive of course and he may well have changed his mind but Im guessing he is being offered generational type wealth even for a footballer so it has to be tempting.

Not a cat in hell's chance we get a combined £40M-£50M for Stones and Ake given their age and injury record's.
100% agree yet I see multiple times, every day, posters with their list of outgoings and a healthy transfer fee next to the name of John Stones.

Love the guy to bits and when he's been fit he's an absolute Rolls Royce of a footballer. But he's done. He'll stay at City for the last year of his contract, probably play 5-10 games next season, and leave on a free. There's no way any transfer negotiator with anything resembling a brain is offering upwards of £15m for current John Stones based on his wages and injury record. Pure fantasy.

So two new keepers on top of outfield signings?

If Ederson brings his supposed Saudi offer to the table again, then that will get done.

Ortega has offers back in Germany.

Think Costa will happen.

Reinjdeers
Costa
Gibbs-White
Cambiaso
Wesley.

All of them more than likely after yesterday.
