Kane wanted City, it couldn't have been made clearer. Levy refused to sell to City and then we bought Haaland.

I've never been convinced that we were in for Rice. Throwing in a late bid publicly isn't the way City go about transfers.

We were mischief making and making sure arsenal paid top dollar.

Why would we do that?

That's boardroom level shit, that I fully endorse because arsenal are possibly the biggest cunts behind the scenes as far as City and the charges are concerned.

No idea why posters are dismissing it, it’s pretty obvious that it’s the case.

There’s probably only half a dozen or so who are untouchable, the rest would be considered if the right bid came in.

Off top of my head:

Haaland
Gvardiol
Rodders
Marmoush
Phil
Plus the Jan signings but they could possibly be loaned.

Should have added, players like O’Reilly and Bobb will obviously be safe too.

The issue with losing too many at once is the subsequent necessity of replacing them all at once. Which isn't feasible. I don't think half the squad is good enough but it's going to take a few windows to address fully.

They won’t all go though, it’s just us being open to bids.

I’ve said many times over last few days, it’s World Cup year and players will want minutes.

Just as an example, the centre half situation. I don’t think any bar Gvardiol are safe if the right bid came in, we need to make space. Then players like Gundo, Bernie and Kova. They are all under contract and we can’t force them to leave, but we won’t want all 3 here next season, it clogs up space for the new and younger guys.

Pep in his last PC contrasted the current situation with when a large group (which included Yaya) left at the end of his first season. "We have 22 players under contract....." he said, "there will be new faces but not many". Maybe we'll see some surprising sales and loans but I reckon the only replacements will be for the leavers KDB, Walker and probably Jack. Not sure he'll lose much sleep rotating the likes of Bernardo, Gundo and Kova or the EDS lads next season.

We were in for Rice. We had a deal with Sullivan to buy at £90m. Arsenal had told him they wouldn’t go that high. We bid thinking we’d stolen a march only for Arsenal to bid again and also making it clear they’d keep bidding until they got him so we walked away.

We don't bid unless we know a player will come to us. That's been the case for years

Why do you think we bid, in this case with Rice, without knowing if he was interested in coming to us then?

Viana wont answer to Pep though? I mentioned that at the Bournemouth game it was mentioned that there was some tension between Pep and Viana as Hugo had Peps favourites for the chop (not because of anything besides fitness, age and wages) and Pep wasnt happy about it and thats when he made the comment in the press conference after the match saying he didnt want a many players and if the club made him that he would quit? Txiki is back to help with the potential sales in and out but also mainly to deal with Pep to a point? The squad is too long in the tooth together now and the routine needs ripped up with new hungry top class players who can grow further under Pep and are desperate to win? In contrast, when it was mentioned in the press conference before the Fulham game that Pep said he would quit, he then said he was joking and had laughed when he said it (which he hadnt at all!) Viana is DESPERATE to make a big success here and wants to be here for a long time and has that ruthless nature that if something isnt working, he is more than happy to change things drastically.
