I suspect that the management is warier now and recognises that Rodri is likely only to play a character role this season, at best, so we’re still looking for someone to bolster midfield. People might contend that we’re stacked there already, which we are in numbers, but when we look at their respective attributes, we can see that we still lack certain important things.

I agree that there is no carbon copy. However, the alternative has been to dovetail two players in there, which then reduces their ability to fulfill their main functions, so we generally end up weakened. If the club is still looking, then it suggests to me they want someone versatile enough to have us stronger.
