It's Quiet the £250m return

For me the areas we need to definitely address are right back and wings.

Nunes or Lewis aren’t good enough to start the majority of games but 1 of them (Lewis) is a great squad player. We need a right back, like Walker, to come in at a higher level.

Bobb is clearly talented and will develop over time. He looks really good defensively and holding the ball under pressure which pep loves and has said would make him ideal for the 10 role. Once he starts shooting or crossing more we will have some player on our hands.

Cherki and Foden are class but currently both injured.

Personally I don’t think Doku and Savio are good enough, I accept they have potential but I can’t see them ever being stand out players here meaning we have 3 wingers that are developing and like I said about right back we need players that are established and can play at the highest level.

Turkish window opened for two weeks more so when Gundogan doesn’t see his name on the registered squad lists then I’d hope it accelerates something.

Will be very sour if he sits here till Jan not playing a minute.

He was never going to leave that contract he is on at City. Loan suits him down to the ground as he gets City pay whilst playing every week.
We need to stop paying squad players like Akanji and Ortega so much in wages, something for Viana to fix

should have been explained to him that long term future of club much more important than him trying to give one more go to old guard and how it can backfire if we delay the rebuild. Walker to be won over in that sushi dinner by Pep for extra 3 years contract. Gundo coming back. etc. Ederson already eyed Saudi move last summer I bet we would have got 30m there.

I got the impression this was Pep taking his share of the blame - something he regularly does - rather than him having prevented it happening.

From what I've read, I though an overhaul was planned, but the main players they wanted were more likely to be available this Summer (I think one might have been Wirtz, which turned out to the case, even if we didn't get him). So the choice wasn't black and white, it felt more like "do we compromise this Summer, or put things off for 12 months" when the picture will be a lot clearer. Pep's side was that he didn't expect to win that fourth title, and thought that we'd cope for another year. Obviously injuries to Rodri, and then most of the CBs on/off through the year (and despite their reputation, last year was much worse than normal), derailed things for a while.

I am lot more of an optimist than many on here, but clearly the jury is out on whether it'll work out in the end.

He was rumoured to be the replacement for Walker wasnt he? Not getting Cambiaso has bitten us badly
It's a good thing we used the Cambiasso money wisely...

Sent Reis out on loan, Khusanov who can't get a game and also leaving Nico Gonzalez to keep him company on the bench.

Marvellous transfer business. May aswell give Woodward a job at this rate ffs.

Not great for getting in the German squad either.

He is 35 next month.

Not sure how I feel about Akanji and Gundogan leaving. They certainly had their limitations but they got us over the line last season and for that we should be grateful. Stones, Ake, Nunes, and Phillips, should all have been out the door first, but circumstances dictate otherwise.
