It's Quiet the £250m return

Dias ? Was his biggest fan but his form in the last 12 months has fallen off a cliff . No good in the air, our slowest defender which with a high line is suicidal, and our worst ball player when building up form the back . I see khusanov and Gvardiol as our future cb pairing .. khusanov has that speed and strength , Gvardiol cultured ball player . Right footer and left footer as well which massively helps . And also our two youngest cb's.

Just to add .. I would of also thrown the 35million at guehi as ake and stones will no doubt be injured at some point and both need replacing next summer

Going to throw this out there, I think our next best centre back is not even at the club right now. Jumah Bah is incredible. They were raving about him last season in ligue un

Tyrone Marshall has been consistently wrong this whole Summer so don't believe him. He said in July we are not going to be signing any new players and we bought Donnarumma and Trafford. Also, Fabrizio reported we went after Livramento this Summer but only offered 50mil which was 30mil short of Newcastle's asking price so we (sort of) did go after a right back.
Not to mention he works for M.E.N. so probably a rag.

He looks great. I need to watch a full Nice game.

It's a small thing but it matters to me - why does he not have a profile on the "Players" section of the club's website? That's our official base in the virtual world. He's a part of our squad, he should have a presence there.

We still have an excellent squad at our disposal despite the perceived weaknesses at RB and wing.
The one thing I have questioned is who is going to thrive as our natural born leader? Do we have a Vinny, Doyle, Morrison, De Jong or Fern who will kick arse and galvanise the team ?
Imho it’s a weakness rarely addressed on here.

how our wage bill changed after this window?

some big earners left like Walker, KDB, Ederson. some on loan albeit we have to subsidize some of those salaries.
the new arrivals surely arent on minimum wag either but I hope we didnt do crazy salaries apart from maybe Donnarumma.
some renewals happened as well upping contracts and few more pending.

agent fees also will run high again imo as we needed help from some of them to help us with outgoing transfers as well.

are we still on the highest wage bill in PL? possibly yes but I would think Liverpool now must be very close and Arsenal surely reduced the gap to us.

its just the things like Grealish 300K, Akanji 180K, Phillips 150K, do we need to pay this much to them really? sick thing is probably it was result of agent asking more we were offering less and met in the middle.
I think to fully going down on wages - Bernardo, Stones, Akanji still have to leave. Grealish and Akanji ain’t sure things either so we’ll see. I think Marmoush(280) and Haaland (400?)would be our top earners then. Don’t know how much donnarumma is getting but as a goalkeeper he shouldn’t be anywhere close ( Ederson got like 120k).

I wonder if we will go full attack on like 2-3 players next season or hope we progress and involve academy players instead.
Looking at the names Wharton, Livramento are high on the list with MGW probably still being an option despite his extension.

Hopefully once whoever left to leave goes the group will come together in a positive way. Hopefully this leads to someone stepping forward, whether established or new player. Attitude of dying for the cause.

I rate Reis higher I think he is the new leader at the back. The similarities with Thisgo Silva are accurate in my opinion.

That is not taking anything away from Bah who looks like an absolute beast.

Also have high hopes for young Mfuni. I think he is 2-3 years behind the two above though

In fact I would love us to start playing 3 at the back with that talent.

If the MEN said it was going dark later… I’d suggest you wait and see.

Selling Salah and VVD to Saudi can only realistically happen next summer. It would shift about £800k-a-week in wages too. The issue they would have though is replacing them with similar quality. We're talking about two players who'd get in an all-time PL XI. Losing VVD would be akin to us losing Rodri - you take out the keystone, the defence looks a lot more vulnerable and then things can unravel. In the case of Salah, I firmly believe they'll go all in for Michael Olise. To my mind, it's absolutely vital that we steal a march on them to try and bring him in at City. He's your Mahrez successor right there. I think he'll be the best winger in the world in a short space of time, with Yamal being the only exception.
Also the chance of Konate using the Alexander-Arnold strategy as his contract runs out next summer.
