It's Quiet the £250m return

Taken from @handsofstone list.. altered the prices slightly because I think he's slightly undervalued a few players.

£30mil Ederson
£25mil Perrone
£25mil Couto
£20mil Doyle
£35mil McAtee
£50mil Grealish
£20mil Ake
£35mil Rico

That is the best part of £200 million already without selling the likes of Stone, Akanji, Bernardo, Kovacic and others. Maybe EDS talents?

We could make a fortune if we wanted. I want us to actually go out and SPEND this summer rather than focussing on net spend.
Don’t expect Rico or Ake to go like

I don’t think it matters as much as you think how much we get for these players, we already have the money set aside to spend.

I think the main thing is balancing the wage bill and squad size.

On top of the 25m for Perrone, we could easily claw over £100m back in total with Grealish, Phillips, Bernardo, Ederson etc looking to leave.
Exactly. I don’t think we will set the bar high for fees on players going out, I think we will want to clear the decks so happily accept a few lowballs to shift a few.

I don't know who exactly is leaving - not even club will know this at this stage - but I'd say the following have a chance to move on:

Ederson
Ortega
Walker
KDB - gone
Gundo
Bernardo
Grealish
McAtee
Phillips

From those nine I reckon we'll see around six leave. If that's correct I'd say we need to bring in four players to have the right balanced, small squad pep wants. We might also promote one or two from our academy.
think we'll see the usual academy lads in training but not in the squad. Even getting it down to 22/23 means Bobb/Rico most likely not even on the bench going by hierarchy

We will shift a centre half or two as well, you’ve not put any on your list. Like I said, World Cup year and even if it’s out on loan for final year of contract it’ll free up squad spots and wages.

Maybe, let's see. I think a lot of fans are expecting like 9-10 players to leave. I just don't think that will be the case. Not that we aren't open to offers I just don't think they'll be the interest in everyone and some will decide to stay to fight for their place, others to leave on a free. My guess is we'll only see around six gone.

would love a full over haul but kinda agree think they will stagger this with next summer. the fringe we might expect to go Nunes, Ake, Akanji, Doku etc all get a chance till part 2.

It's unbelievable really

You got 2 midfielders as our best full backs on form, one is a mid-table(ish) player and the other is a 20 year old

At least with Delph/Zinchenko they were prem experienced and were balanced by Walker, the best full back in the league, maybe of all time, in his prime on the other flank
Image the 17/18 season having Delph on one flank and some like Brahim Daz, Sancho or Patrick Roberts at RB...thats what it's currently like

None of this inverted FB nonsense, give me a natural full back, who always plays at full back, and acts like a 'traditional' full back
I agree , need to have a proper right back and left back and if there is a game ,where Pep sees that inverted full back is a better option ,then be it ,but most of the time we should have 2 full backs on the field.

Yep. And I think some deserve more of a chance like Nunes kovacic and Doku. They can be very very good squad players but probably the reality is they aren’t good enough to be first teamers.

I reckon we could get more for Ederson, less for Perrone, less for Grealish, and certainly less for Phillips. For those players (not that I think we will sell them all) you're probably looking at more like £180m collectively.

The Perrone fee is already confirmed mate at £25m?

Think in years gone by we have had about 6 of the homegrown 8 4 association plus 1 or 2 club trained Foden and sometimes Palmer to give us a 23 man squad.
Think we will aim for similar this summer but a different balance maybe 4 club trained /U21 Lewis , O,Reilly Foden Bobb as part of the 23/24
and only maybe 3 association trained

If we could sell anyone, I’d be losing the following:

Grealish, McAtee, Ake, Stones, Gundogan, Bernardo

Sign two midfielders, two wingbacks and happy days that’s all we need. -3 on squad size, aging, injury prone or wantaway players gone.

GK situation doesn’t matter, it’ll be like for like for both, and imagining that loan players will leave al a Walker and Phillips.

But that’s dreamland.

People thinking we will get big money for Grealish, Stones or Bernie need to put the crack pipes down.

@richards30 list of prices is fucking hilarious, £20mil for Kalvin, lmao. Lucky to get 20p.

There will be a market for Phillips at that price mate, lesser prem teams and even newly promoted teams will be looking for experienced players at a proven level? Just because it didn’t work out here, it doesn’t mean Phillips isn’t at a certain price point? £20m in football now is fuck all and Phillips isn’t arrogant enough to demand his current wage elsewhere?

With the exception of Livramento on the list (who i still don’t believe we will get) not one player is improving on what we already have. That’s the problem.

gonna come down to pep and who they want in. Id be shifting about 9 for 6 if i could from who's registered now, count Walker, Perrone etc id have about 12+ out. lol

So basically we're looking for an elite player that -
is happily married,
doesn't go out,
drives a Prius,
hasn't got a greedy agent,
is cheapish,
has never admired Liverpool, Madrid, Barca, Bayern or united,
who'll accept our first offer.

No wonder we sometimes struggle.

Imo the ones who should be going from within our playing squad and replaced with currently more exciting players are...

KDB - obviously
Akanji - very limited this year.
Stones - unfortunately not fit enough
Grealish - limited out wide and seems gone anyway
Bernardo - has the energy still but he is part of our core problem imo of our slow attack

So I'd love...
1 new CB who can play like Stones at his best
2 midfielders who have an end product that is potentially up there with the likes of David Silva, Yaya, Fernandinho, KDB.
1 full back who can both attack and defend very well

I'd also like lots of improvements from Pep. Without him stepping up his game and bringing positivity back into the dressing room, no new signings will make much difference.
