It's Quiet the £250m return

How do yall feel about Pep Linjders becoming the new assistant coach ?

I’m quite excited. Playing faster, more exciting football and he could improve our pressing.

I would be more than happy to see him promoted too, Brits was on the bench at christmas also.

added bonus they all have cool names
True, might see if it happen late on if we cant shift someone daft but doubt it. Numbers are fine with total we've told can go, and how many we want, probably end up with space as pep wants.

I am so gassed for this guy to come in.
“We don’t go for man we go for the ball”
“We close gaps but not fully to make them think they can play football”
“Our defenders have to be super fast and good in the air” - Khusonov x Gvardiol
“counterpress is only worth what you do after and we want to go forward and attack”
“Allow our best players to have the ball as much possible”

Please watch these 2 videos gents. This is about to be one helluva rebuild! We’re gonna be able to press and be more enjoyable to watch again !!

Reijnders, Rodrygo, Cherki, and either a top LB or RB, ideally both.
and a good keeper if Ederson is off.

I am ok with that window.

one of Gundo, Kova, Bernardo has to leave imo. that will be a hard decision for Pep. could be made easier if one of them asks to leave and brings an offer. Gundo sounding like he is planning to stay tho.
Not one, but all of them will have to leave plus Nunes or Akanji.

For CL it would still be a struggle as Khusa and Savio wont count as under 21

I’d happily have all 3, the speed of Cherki’s feet and flamboyant nature (from the clips I’ve seen) reminds me of a more physical Mahrez. Reijnders looks an all rounder and I agree that MGW appears to be a bit of a ****.

However, he’s a fit, pacy **** with a bit of needle in him. I sometimes feel one of the few things we miss is a bit of an aggressive fucker in the team who has a bit of cuntishness about them when it’s required. Add in his relationship with Phil and it might be a good fit for all parties.

Really excited to see the refresh of City over this summer, between players and coaches there’s a shit load going on. Will be sad to see some top top lads bow out though.
Only in blue moon could the word **** be used to describe a player positively!

Really? Don’t remember that.
Caballero
Clichy
Zabaleta
Kolarov
Sagna
Navas
Nolito
Fernando
Nasri
Iheanacho
Bony
Zuculini

You can argue some of those weren't really involved in the season before anyway, but plenty were. The various players having contracts expiring made it easy, too.
Nonetheless, a lot of players left, and the squad was able to thrive.

I think more than 10 will be gone and this window will be just amazing the way it’s shaping up

We have 2 very good youth keepers in Spike Brits and True Grant

no need to find one just promote from within, lets be honest they will be mainly used for domestic cups and I have confidence both are gonna go on to have careers so why waste money
They are great talents for sure but I disagree.

Remember when we had Zak Steffan in goal, the quality drop off was insane! You need cup runs for momentum, you need a 2nd choice to challenge the 1 and cover injuries.

Ortega is the best example, he’s been a phenomenal number 2 and if he wants out we should aim for a similar player.

We still had a deeper squad in 2017 and could really afford to lose that many and only added 5 in that summer. Too many first team changes in one window is a little too much. Still got to intergrate them.

Not even a comparriaon, Zak was 25 when we signed him only played 2 games and wa loaned out after that.

Thee kids are accady trained to play the holistic football we play at all levels, Brits and Whatmuff are praised at youth level for their ability footwork wise as well as shot stopping.

Yes it is a risk, but one worth taking as realistically how often are keepers out injured

And it has to be said that talented young goalkeepers really need to get #1 minutes if possible. If we have an EDS keeper hanging around that is over 19 I would probably assume he isn’t that good. Ideally they’d be fighting for a starting place at a League One/Two club or equivalent.

Ederson is out injured quite a lot.
Ortega played 21 games last season

10 will leave.

kdb
walker
philips
grilish
stones
mcatee
ortega or edetson
ake or akanji

the squad will be 18 players again.

with the arrivals of 4- 5 players i see 23 players total.
That's 8 not 10.

And at least 3 of those are not first team players, so really 5.

Gundo is going nowhere.
Pep signed him with a ruptured ACL and all the uncertainty that brings.
He understands Pep’s philosophy probably better than any other player.
Pep clearly loves the guy and will not want to release him having resigned him last year.
He has another year on his contract after which I can see him joining the back room staff.
I can only see him going if it’s his own decision, not the club’s.
Hopefully Gundog will see sense

I think due to injuries he doesn't get the respect he deserves. Maybe in time the plaudits will come because he has been an exceptional footballer for club and country. Can't blame him for wanting the world cup place and can't blame City for needing to plan for life without him. If he isn't fit he is too expensive to take up a place in the squad sadly.

Quite right though, would have been nice to give him a proper send off if he is leaving. Hopefully we get the chance one day.
Very classy CB. He was probably only behind Haaland for our player of the treble season. That John Stones will be a huge miss.
