It's Quiet the £250m return

I've always wondered about that, when it gets reported Pep has spoken with the player many times etc.. If we ask the club's permission to speak with the player first. I'd like to think we do, but I don't know one way or the other.
In reality it’s all done by, say, Txiki to agent, months before
Where the Cult fucked up was that Van Dijk met Klopp in “the poshest hotel in Blackpool” (world’s tallest dwarf or what?!!) and some Cult supporter staff couldn’t help themselves, as is their feral nature and breed. Flogged it to the papers

Even caught red handed the PL did fuck all. The Dippers apologised and promised to stop pursuing the player. Then promptly signed him. YCMIU.

Don't understand why we would be agreeing terms with the player before agreeing a fee with wolves.
He is going to be getting a significant pay rise from what he is on now so he's not going to turn it down.
It's the way clubs and players operate these days.

It makes sense to agree terms with the player first to make sure the player is happy with the financial package and expectations ect

No point both clubs going weeks trying to agree on a fee and the breakdown of the fee first and not knowing if the player even wants to go.

Will be an excellent signing, imo. Just turned 23, had 4 years in the Prem. Easy to say we should have signed him when we were interested a few years back, but he probably wouldn’t have got the opportunity here as a youngster to develop.

Assuming we get him for circa £40mil then happy days.

No way Newcastle will sell him for what they paid Saints. His stock has risen considerably since then and his value has gone up. Would take silly money to sign him but we'd have to turn his head first to agitate a move, and that won't be easy seeing as he's said he's settled and happy there.
