It's Quiet the £250m return

He struggled to adapt to another City in western Europe. Instanbul is an even bigger change than going from Portugal to Manchester.
He missed the sunshine and didn’t like the winters, Istanbul will be closer to Portugal than Manchester in climate. Bit cooler in Dec Jan in Istanbul than Lisbon. I live in Scotland now but given the choice of spending 2 years in Istanbul or going back to Manchester I’d be getting my passport out.

Always been a lot of money in turkey but this does seem like more than expected.
That Galatasaray side has Osimhen, Morata, Lemina, Davidson Sanchez, Mertens and Icardi.
Leroy Sane joining up and a plethora of Turkish internationals already there.
The wage bill must be phenomenal.

Osimhen not gone back to Napoli?

Agree must be some outgoings.

Osimhen was only a loan and looks like he’s going to Saudi.

Ederson has got 12 months left on his contract, if he doesn't sign do you think he gets sold this summer? Surely the club don't want to go into the season with a keeper who will leave on a free next year.
If the rumoured fee of £15M is accurate, he's worth more to us this season than we'd get for him. If he can motivate himself for one last year then a massive payday as a free agent, that makes more sense to me than us having to replace yet another major figure in the team this summer

Unless, of course, we believe that his replacement will only be available this summer, in which case we may act now. We could even do what Liverpool did and leave a younger goalkeeper on loan at their parent club until next season in order to lock someone down this summer

Ake was playing with a fracture in his foot. I think he's more reliable than some give him credit for.

With Ait-Nouri coming in, Josko being able to cover LB/LCB and able to play a lot of minutes he'll finally get some rest which is one reason so many players have had awful season in my opinion.

We should sell Stones and Akanji before Ake.
Absolutely correct, never agreed with the Ake narrative, he’s generally been very reliable, not like he has had multiple soft tissue injuries!

Reliable until this year?

I stand by my point that we’ve run so many players into the ground and Ake has clearly suffered this year from it recently.

Bernie is another that’s stayed fit but look at him now.

I’m no expert clearly but I don’t know if they now want to flip him because of these injuries. Or it’s something that with proper rest, recovery and not being rushed back which has happened far too much in recent years can be managed properly.

For arguments sake, let's presume City would have gone to £100m for Wirtz?

Factoring we paid then £112m for three players, two of which were definitely coming, anyway?

It's not beyond the realms, City has the best part of £140m still to play with, which would tally with the £250m kitty I had been told.

Think we have to let a few go before anymore come in

Not from a financial view, more squad quotas, yes.

Those players were always going.

I still can't reconcile Ederson not going, especially into his final year.

Makes zero sense running his deal down to wait for Saudi, as they aren't arsed about saving £20m on a fee.

I'll believe Bernardo is going when he actually goes. There is noise with him just about every offseason. He will probably stay put. I mean he struggled to adapt to Manchester. I can't imagine he will rock up in Turkey.
Bernardo struggled to adapt to Manchester?

He lives right in the city centre, has been here for 8 years, and has played amazingly well in our best ever teams for someone who was struggling to adapt!

Other clubs will know we have to get rid of players & will low ball us for transfer fees, we'll probably have to practically give them away to get them off the books
