It's Quiet the £250m return

They have plenty of issues too. Salah and VVD ages. Replacing TAA and Konate going in to the last 12 months of his contract after rejecting their last offer. These are massive issues for them.
Don't think that will affect them in the upcoming season.
Bradley and Frimpong will compensate for Arnold.
Salah doesn't seem to age so may get 2 more good seasons out of him

Frimpong is an immediate replacement for Arnold. If they buy Guehi that's Konate done. Robertson on the wain, so they get kerkez. They buy Wirtz... It's fucking annoying but they're doing everything right.

Nope we should get a fee regardless. If he wasn't in Pep's plans for this season he would either back in Manchester along with both Walker and Grealish or wouldn't have been given significant game time in the opening CWC fixtures.
It is possible to turn black and white into grey.

It is neigh on impossible to turn grey into black or white though.

Frimpong may need a whole season to settle, he's new to the league. Plus, it's not obvious he's as good as TAA. The latter's a twat, but his passing ability was a big asset. Wirtz may need time too, who knows?

Posted this before but I'll repeat it, I think 4 from Gundogan ,Kovacic, Akanji, Echeverri,Reis, Khusonov from the NHG group will need to be sold or loaned. So take your pick,my guess 2 senior and 2 younger players make way, but really no idea.
I know we don't do this, but if there is any player on that list that can be kept in the PL squad but not the CL, it is Echeverri. Reis and Kush, don't see it, think they'd either be loaned or kept but registered.

No one knows but that feels a little boring as a conversation. These are very good footballers. There's every chance they fit right in as galling as that prospect is.

If 4 from that group go we won't,by my count anyway. The leave players out of the champions league squad thing just doesn't work, partly because it could lead to unhappy players, but mainly because then we have a PL squad of about 26/27 and a situation Pep has said he doesn't want with players left at home.
I'm almost certain we go into the season with one squad for everything of 24/25 players.
Bear in mind we have never gone with a squad that big under pep before. We generally went with 19 or 20 out of 21 and maybe 1 of the additional 4. Our squads have usually been 22/25 max under pep, consistently. 24,25 players, it would be a first under Pep.

I did say we wouldn't do it and don't think we will but think if we did it would only be one player, depending what Echeverri's injury is it could be him.

Yeah I agree. I am saying that people readily assuming we would keep 3 (4 including Savinho) players without registering them in the CL, are off.

At a push, Echeverri wouldn't shock me, as one player from that group perhaps. But don't see it with any of the others.

They might hit the ground running, or they might not. It's mostly guessing.

Agree that they're good signings. Might not all work though. They don't play with a 10 currently, so will be interesting to see where they play Wirtz. Will either be a change for Slot, or a change for Wirtz, so might take some time to bed in

Yes I think the difference now is we have 4 players club trained and U21 that are established as part of the first team squad in Foden, Bobb, Lewis and O'Reilly., where previous years we really just had Foden and maybe Palmer or last year McAtee. So That's 2 extra, we may go with less than 4 homegrown but all guess work really, my guess I think it will be 20/21 plus those 4.

Not sure Guehi is an upgrade on Konate and the latter is only 18 months or so older than the former

We would have used Gundo less as well. Pep thinks he can still do a job for this season. Along with the new signings it is going to be a lot smoother return and fingers crossed he can leave City like he had done in his first spell. First and foremost move Walker and Grealish and Phillips on.
My two most hated sayings in football are "Can do a job" & "Put a shift in". How much more Fat Sam, Dave Bassett, Neil Warnock & Stuart Pearce can you get?

Both phrases scream mediocrity & settling for a mend & make do philosophy. In just 90 minutes, Ait Nouri showed the difference between a specialist & a "Can do a job" type player.

Night & bleedin day...

This i agree on! Just because a player can do a job it doesnt mean its the right player for the job?! Foden COULD play in goals but it doesnt mean he should! LB now sorted and RB should be the same.
