It's Quiet the £250m return

Saying that, those 15-20 games he does play could make the difference and win us the league
I think the problem is that at his age it is npt 15-20 games of Super johnny boulders. It takes him 4-5 games to get up to speed. So yiu are only getting 10+ good games from him. We also know from history that 3-4 of those will be for England.

If you think that City buy players that Pep doesn’t “like or favour” you need to have a word with the cuckoo next to you

Want to explain why we bought and not used Philips, Gonzales, Sergio Gomez, Khusanov, Reis, Echeverri, and Nunes (prior to him reinventing himself at RB)? Or you want to explain it to the cuckoo next to me? Not sure why people online devolve to insults on the first disagreement, but I gather it just shows lack of class.

Our line up will consist of Gundogan and Bernardo next season. Made him captain to make sure he stays. Can’t wait for the rebuild to take longer because Pep doesn’t wanna lose his old guard.
I will repeat it. He wanted to leave on a high while the club would need years to rebuild.

Pep is 100% involved in all transfers, there is a de-facto committee which he is fully involved in anyone who thinks otherwise is simply incorrect that was my point.
As regards to the players you quote above then Four of them were bought in January so far too early to judge Gomez was a punt as a squad player and was more than useful Only Phillips hasn’t lived up to expectations Nunes has been more than useful at FB

3 of those are kid's new to the league and country. Phillips is wank, Gomez was a cheap stop gap. Nunes, Pep obviously doesn't rate him as a midfielder after seeing him day in day out but is attempting to reinvent him as a RB.

Every club makes mistakes signing players look at the rags, spent a fortune and have hardly bought a decent player in years.

We get many more right than wrong.

with Viana here I am optimistic. he knows he needs to deliver and he has had time to asses the squad. his main role is to make sure squad is strong enough to challenge for PL, CL.
then its up to Pep to do his bit.

we cannot carry players that not helping us or cannot hit the levels needed or past their best. Viana aint looking at this with emotions as he wasnt part of City before which is a great thing. I do think he will deliver few blows on outgoing transfers front next few weeks. that RB spot also clear exampe of solution needed, rather than lets try with Lewis/Nunes and see how it goes. thats what Txiki would do but not Txiki of 5/10 years ago but the one we saw in last 24 months.

Even more confusing than that was we were on a roll and had a solid defensive setup with O'Reilly, Gvardiol, Dias and Nunes and Pep tinkered with it to fit Akanji in and we had a really bad game at Southampton away.
And played Akanji again in final etc. Whopper fukups again in finals

The way I am looking at the rebuild it's a slow burner but it will catch fire. I still think we might get 1 more in. Just feel some more out goings need to happen. I think with the CWC we have some members of that squad on holidays. Some of them where in the shop window. If we get a bid for Gundo I think he may go. The same with 1 of Ake , Stones and Akanji also a few players that didn't travel will hopefully go then add in loan options. Then Pep will have the shape of the squad got to think him and the new staff are throwing names about as a Right back in the long term but as I said before Rico Lewis will be given game time he has a future in a Pep squad also plays better with Rodri about the team. Remember he will only get better. Also the right back options seem to be a tricky position to fill.

Sorry to keep saying the same thing but...IMO we need a new CB more than anything else.

That said we have 2 new CBs but whether they ever play or are good enough it another thing. And we have a number of older guys but whether they can manage a run of games is pretty doubtful. Or regain their form?

The truth is that we have no MONSTER and without one I don't think we'll do much this year.

What’s that coming over the hill, is it Gvardiol

Agree mate . We need a right back which is a must and also apart from gvadiol at the back we haven’t got much any more which we witness when the seasons starts . Reiss and krusanov should be playing games for us next season because when you look at all the other clubs they mostly give their young players game time . We need pep to get this and tbh as long as they put into the team and we start to build for future then I don’t care if we dint win anything .

The clubs competing for titles rarely do. That's why so many of even the very best young players move to clubs not competing for titles, or move to other leagues, before returning to the top towards their mid-twenties. I hope this changes because it is so exciting to see new talent emerge, but how many here would be willing to sacrifice trophies and the CL to regularly give teenagers game time?

My own view, and I have said it here several times, is that we should have at least one starting academy player, and one player from the academy on the bench every game. That sub-player should receive game time in increasing minutes. We wouldn't consider established players like Lewis or Foden as academy players now. O'Reilly, possibly, but at the end of the 2025 season, no.

People seriously think Pep will allow anyone to take players away from him that he wants and trusts. Zero chance. The real "rebuild" will starts when pep leaves. Suspect he wil give it one more go this season to leave on a high

Agreed a Monster with pace. Dias and Gvardiol don't work as a pair in this city side, You might have got away with it when we had Walker with his covering / recovery pace.

But ait Nouri and Nunes will see the CB's pace getting exposed.

Id go for Marc Guehi. 1 year left on his contract. You could get him for 50 million and hes 24.
