It's Quiet the £250m return

Dortmund have Bobb on their radar.

#BVB has Oscar #Bobb (22, RA) on their list (not a priority). In the Premier League, the transfer market is only just starting to move. It seems like Dortmund wants to see the first dominoes fall before making their move.

Like the Nico O’Reilly news last week. Teams will want these players but we don’t want to sell.

As long as we use them so they don’t want to leave it’s fine.

Bobb before he broke his leg basically worked his way into a starting spot.

I think we’d have to bring someone in, it’d be too much of a risk when we don’t know how much football Rodders is going to be capable of playing quite yet.

As @waspish said, I think MGW or Wharton would be our best options, get another homegrown into the squad.
Depends who leaves and who comes in as right back and keepers. For example If it was Kovacic and Gundogan as well as Ederson and Akanji leaving then say we bought a home grown right back to replace Grealish, Trafford to replace Ederson the spare space night end up in the non home grown list. Unless Stones went the midfielder would then need to be NHG , maybe in that scenario even keep Nypan instead of loaning him.

Lots of options and angles!

Bizarrely, considering the lack of current activity in the area, one of my main concerns is at the centre of defence. I’m not convinced about Dias and his current form, Stones and Ake both continually suffering with injuries, Akanji not convincing, Khusanov not getting minutes, Reis too raw. Gvardiol needs a top drawer partner and we don’t seem to have one. It could bite us on the arse this season unless we can get it sorted before the window shuts.

Just start Khusanov and gvardiol. It will work out. Need to sell CB‘s first before buying one. I still hope that stones + akanji are going to leave to make way for an actual RB.

Swear if he leaves just sign Rodrygo at this point

He’s basically our Sancho/Rashford we will just have to loan him until his contract ends. Same thing we’re doing with Philips

Honestly despite how shaky we’ve looked defensively centre back is the least of my concerns in the entire team. Dias is captain material, quality, just gets hung out to dry by Peps high line and lack of cover from full back. Gvardiol is quality and with a consistent run of games there will be undroppable imo. Khusanov is raw but has all the traits to thrive in a high line, yet Pep just seems reluctant to play him currently for whatever reason. Ake and Stones are top draw when fit, if both stay as back ups I’m completely fine with that. Akanji has been suspect recently but I’m convinced it’s a mentality thing with him, get a run of wins going, some momentum and he’ll be fine if he stays (although he shouldnt be a starter). Reis is highly regarded but needs experience, a loan in a top league will do wonders imo. That’s ignoring Bah who is also highly rated and a massive future prospect.

There’s enough there to work with easily, IMO it’s a Pep issue not setting a team out to protect them and set the team up to cover individual shortcomings rather than the overall quality of player. The way we’ve played for years i can’t stress how much Walker held our Defense together with recovery pace. Even at our best we’d rely on him to bail us out when teams went in behind. He’s not here anymore and it’s up to pep to tweak the system to counteract that
