It's Quiet the £250m return

Other teams have hugely improved their squad especially Liverpool. If Arsenal do sign Gykores they have got a major missing piece completed as well.

All the improvement right now is on paper! You don't know how all these new signings will turn out for them and us.

Liverpool are replacing both their long serving full backs, that is a big change considering how much of their play goes through their full backs. One injury to either Van Djik or Konate and they are starting Joe Gomez!!! Their defence is new, have less depth and will take time to gel.

Same can be said about Arsenal's attack. Gykores did scored plenty of goals last season, but Premier league will present different challenge and it may take some time for him to start firing. Left wing is still a problem area for them. Open play goal scoring may be a problem for them if the left wing and striker issues remain.

There are lots of changes in each of the Top 3 sides to make a concrete prediction of who will fare better. One clear advantage we have over these 2 is Pep. He will be raring to go after last season's turmoil. Plus, it will be an exciting thing to see how our young team is taking shape across the season!

We want release clauses!

Give me an r, R, give me a e, E, ....
Waddayagot? How about we offer 10 m less?

He’s arguably one of the best players in the league and he’s carried a pretty average Chelsea side at times. 80% of last season - he outscored/ assisted most players in the league last year.

No need to downplay how good he is. Pep won’t be here in a few years, so our next manager might think differently. It’s all fantasy at the minute anyway
After his initial burst last season he did very little for the last 3/4, that’s not downplaying it’s saying what actually happened

rodri will take months to get to being able to play week in week out and back to the level he was at....he already has had another injruy (which is completely normal after being sidelined for so long) - so we have to consider we might not see his best for another 4-6 months

Marmoush played last year
Reiijnders looks class as does Alt nouri (but what is he like defensively??)
Cherki is the big one - he could be brilliant but he could be a complete disaster - he is a maverick and players like him can go either way (for example Balotelli)

The game vs Juve has made people over confident - juve were pretty poor. Al Hilal just reminded every prem team of our major weaknesses.

We dont need lots of injuries to decimate a squad who has only 1 recognised left back and no recognised right back and only two fit centre halves with the other two being hugely injury prone anyway

The positions I would bring in is at least one right back, possibly two and a centre half who is ready to go into the first team from the off)

Out for me would be: Grealish, Gundo, Nunes, Rico Lewis (one of the goal keepers but not both of them), Stones, Ake, Phillips, (Reis - on loan, Echeverri on loan), McAtee. I also think there is at least a discussion to be had whether Savihno makes it or not - needs another 18 months probably but there is a discussion to be had about it...Same could be said of Doku (Though he probably has a lot less time to impress and step up - which he does do at times but he is inconsistent)

I know its a lot harder than that but there you go

Which players would you be looking to bring in for those positions?

As I've said with our squad and Liverpool's squad:

Goalkeepers -

Allison and Marmadashvili
Ederson and Ortega, or Trafford and Ortega

Defence - Van Dijk, Konate (who could leave), Joe Gomez, Rhys Williams, Bradley, Kerkez, Robertson (could leave), Tsimikas, Frimpong, Ramsey

Dias, Stones, Gvardiol, Ake, Akanji, Khusanov, Reis, Ait Nouri, O'Reilly, Nunes, Lewis and possibly a RB to come in.

Also have Simpson Pusey, Mfuni and Alleyne who could come in and play if needs be.

Midfield - Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Endo, Gravenberch, McCallister, Bajcetic, Elliot (could leave), Jones, Morton,

Cherki, Foden, Gundogan (could leave), Bernardo, Rodri, Nico G, Kovacic, Reijnders, Echeverri (could leave),

Gakpo, Diaz (could leave), Etikite, Salah, Nunez (could leave), Chiesa (could leave), Doak (could leave)

Haaland, Marmoush, Doku, Savinho, Bobb

We have far more depth for me. They are short at CB and in midfield. Liverpool fans will be thinking if they have big injuries to key players they don't have the cover. Don't forget if Konate, Diaz, Elliot, Chiesa and Nunez all leave, they will have to buy atleast 3 new players to replace them. No guarantees that those players are going to improve them. Players like Diaz, Jota and Konate going to very difficult to replace like Mahrez, Laporte and Alvarez were for us. Players like Elliot, Diaz and Jota who don't kick up a fuss come in and do the business for them.

Robertson and Tsimikas could leave
Exactly. Diaz wants to leave, so does Konate and they can't keep Robertson and Tsimikas. One will leave. Also what about Elliot? Would he be happy being a benchwarmer for another season?
Nunez is certainly going with Ekitike coming in.

It's not about numbers it's about quality.

For instance.....Scousers centre halves are better than ours....as are Arsenal's
There fullback options are better on the right and more depth on the left
Wirtz is better creatively than any of our players
Salah=haaland and Gakpo probably shades Marmoush just at present

Lots of questions about quality of our squad is unanswered. Reis. Khusonov completely unproven....Cherki is a complete unknown. Sav and doku aint made the step up yet. Kova not good enough, gundo same as

Allison is a better keeper than any of the 4 you have mentioned

Mcallister gets in our midfield over anyone baring rodri. Szvozoslai is also more than decent

If khus9nov and Reis get to the level required and Cherki then posd8bly

But we absolutely need at least one right back..possibly 2

I've no idea on what player s to bring in...that's why viana gets paid the big bucks.....but what is clear is that we need players especially in defense...we have a competition of project players but we need something more established as well

They bought proven quality at full back plus in Wirtz someone whobis widely regarded as one of tge best if bot tge best up and coming young play makers who has already proved himself in a good league. We have no right back and are 1 injury away ftom playing Nico OReilly at full back ....with Nunes as our right back!
Stones and Ake are dead weight I'm afraid

Gakpo shades Marmoush? lol

Gakpo played 35 league games scored 10 goals Marmoush came in Jan and scored 3 less and that’s after the 15 he’d already scored in Germany.

Gakpo shades fuck all

Wirtz better creativity than anybody we have? Really? lol stats last season 31 games 10 goals 14 assists Marmoush 15 goals 10 assists in just 17 games lol stop talking nonsense mate

Marmoush is not more Creative than Wirtz..
Ronaldo wasn’t as creative as Xavi or iniesta despite having over 300 assists.

Strange second half of the transfer window
We have links of Costa then links of trafford
Then links we are not interested in Costa then links again of Costa and links of lunin ect. Then links of liveremento then links saying we have moved onto other targets. Also new links on mgw to city again after we had supposedly moved on.It all seems a bit of a mess at the moment but hopefully we can sort it out pretty soon.

is this your first rodeo? this is called "silly season" for a reason
