It's Quiet the £250m return

He’s probably been overplayed too, given how bare bones our squad was last season - and the need to inject a bit of unpredictability into our game.
Yes I agree with this. Really needed taking out of the firing line when his form dipped but we had no one. Would ideally be used as a sub for a while to give him leeway and reduce the pressure.

Savinho gets a fucking rough ride from our fans.

He only turned 21 in April, and is in his first season in a new League and a new country, different to anything he’s played in before - yet it seems some of our fans expected him to be on it from the start.

He’s been very inconsistent - but that’s what you get with 20 year olds. It takes a bit of time and patience til they’re producing with any level of consistency.

Not necessarily a dig at you mate - just a very noticeable theme on here, and an indictment of the instant gratification, stridently melodramatic mindset of the modern football fan.
Agreed. People need to remember he is younger than Oscar bobb and is lot more proven

Agreed. Said this earlier but Savinho had the 4th highest g/a contributions from any new signing last season. 11 goals/assists in his debut season is more than decent. If Oscar Bobb hadn't suffered that unfortunate injury and had managed that return over the season after seeing similar minutes, everybody would be more than satisfied with that and excited by his potential.

Make or break season for a 21 year old entering his second season is just a wild thing to say. Savinho has a lot of improvement in him, hes going to be top for us and the people lacking an ounce of patience are going to seem really silly.

so with a new RB (assuming non-hg) we need to sell 3 NG players, without we still need to get rid of 2. (assuming Echeverri and Nypan go on loan). Might get around it by loaning Reis, and then we only need to sell 1 and it couldn't be akanji because we would be down a defender. If reis stays, I reckon Akanji and one of Gundo/Kova/Nico G.

the exit door will be busy next few weeks. other than KDB, Walker, Carson, we really did not do anything on this front and two of these had contract expired.

The danger is the closer we get to the deadline we either lose players for a pittance or, if we can’t shift the ones we want to, potentially lose players we would prefer to keep.

I’m sure his medals are in a safe place
Yeah sure Scott Carson’s 2 CL medals are hung up somewhere as well, likewise he had nothing to do with them.

If your barometer of a good player is that they have medals in a cupboard that they didn’t contribute anything towards then there’s loads of players we could sign for cheap.

So someone who has made over 70 appearances in the CL hasn’t contributed anything

He is an EXCEPTIONAL talent, IMO.
I believe that he will go on to prove exactly that, but he is a developing player, as all 20 year olds are.
Amazing how it is a given that players need twelve months to adapt to our style. Equally amazing how it doesn’t apply to certain players, Savinho being one. I think he will turn out just fine for us and a lot of posters should hang their heads in shame at the abuse he receives.

From what I was told it was one or the other.

And basically how internally the club felt it would benefit Oscar Bobb to be playing week in week out.

It will be interesting to see how it develops.
How would y'all feel if Bobb went on loan?

on one hand he will get way more game time, but I really like watching him play, but I guess it makes sense with Cherki, Foden and Savio ahead of him. IF he left don't you think we'd be too light ?

I’m depressed now that I’ve seen a couple of posts pointing out no sign of Rodders at pre-season.
First day back today, probably inside doing some individual testing/strength work

Probably not been looked at by the Docs since the CWC, so they're probably just seeing where he's at
