To be fair out of that list, the only one who’s actually come through and become a regular is foden. I can see the other three leaving eventually, unless they get game time
 
This summers transfer policy feels very different to previous years. We seem to be going for ready made players instead. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I’m getting Real Madrid vibes.
 
One interesting thing this pre season Pep looks to have given Cherki a free role, to do whatever he wants. He's been everywhere in the games.

3 out of 11 that we have signed in the last 6 months. Not sure it's as clear cut as that.

I find this kick-back against positive assessments of our players odd. Several people watched him in the academy, winning POTY twice. Then, we watched him have a really positive pre-season only to see his season ruined by serious injury. Now, people are excited to see what he can deliver. I don't know of anyone who has said that he is world-class, just plenty who can see that he has serious talent. Besides, isn't it part of the joy of being a fan to be excited by the emergence of new players from the academy setup?

No I am mate, I like Bobb. I watched him in the academy too.

I think making a rod for his back to go into the season to expect him to be instantly head and shoulders above Savinho and Doku who have both have excellent seasons to their name in their careers.

The way we build up then tear down Rico and McAtee seems to just await all our academy prospects.

Some do, yes.
I think he has world-class potential. It is no more than that at this stage.
Between now and such declarations is a lot of hard work, minutes in the team, delivery, and no injuries.
All we can do as fans is to support the players to help them become what they have the chance of becoming. Condemnation of 20 year olds is ridiculous, IMO, because we consign ourselves to never promoting an academy talent, nor taking a chance on under-the-radar potential.

100% agree with that summary. There's always going to be a 28 year old that's further along than your 21 year old, sometimes you just have to prioritise development.
