It's Quiet the £250m return

We've been linked with Livramento all summer. Not that it means much though as we've only been linked with Donnarumma the last few days
Livramento is pie in the sky. Newcastle don’t want to sell. They have suffered a wretched transfer window. They are struggling to hold onto their best player who shamefully has downed tools. I would be stunned if we were stupidly perusing him now.
My only hope is for someone under the radar. But the club are briefing against this..

The clubs also briefing that they want Ederson to stay

Might be smart of Newcastle to sell Livramento as an example of how to behave, and help their PSR, and use it to keep Isak and not let their players hold them to ransom.

He needs to be
Too many average players gives you an average team
He knows the level needed to go up
I suspect the pep comment on Saudi window may also be relevant (kovacic, gundo)
This. We have spent too many windows bulking out the squad, without regularly improving the starting XI. I think we’ve become complacent, which in some ways is understandable, 4-in-a-row would probably do that to most clubs.

As reported already, we have serious interest right now in both.

However my post was aimed at the outgoing,
Rico Lewis being one. The club are seriously debating to let him go and a buy back clause is key.

Akanji, Gundogan players the club are hoping can find new clubs before the end of the window.

And I know you are desperate for a right back, it’s not over yet despite reports as I told you previously. My source still says we are actively looking for a right back.

The club isn’t finished yet.

Give it a rest

It’s bad enough that the club seem content to persist with Nunes. If it’s true that we are willing to let Lewis go, who at least can rotate into midfield well, and positively contribute, then I think we will struggle hugely this season. Nunes is a poor defender and can’t play in midfield (too thick/ not intelligent enough, according to Pep).
Akanji is also limited as a RB.
Who is going to play there? FFS..
I think the difference here is a team is interested in Lewis. No one has come in for Nunes, I’m sure we’d deal him if we had the chance.

All makes sense let’s be honest. Always thought we definitely weren’t done at RB and Gundo strikes me as going.

Akanji is worry about now Reis has gone on loan. I guess we have some players that will play a lot but some injuries and we will struggle. Reis does have a recall clause in his loan. I read at any time but surely has to happen in transfer windows.

I would like to think last year was an anomaly, even if Akanji went we’d still have 5 top centre halves in Dias, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol and Khusanov. Bearing in mind that now having Ait Nouri means Gvardiol doesn’t have to be left back.

Not many sides have that many central defenders.
